LF and McGee would have had the same yards as kW if they where in for that fourth quarter. The wisky D was done

Do you really have to take away from Kenny's performance to reassure some fool that Fournette isn't a bust after his first game?

Seriously, they put LF in on the second to last 3rd down, which he didn't convert, although Kenny converted the one before and after. Fournette will get his, so give credit to Kenny for actually being the back to close it out.

Big time. Hilliard ran to the house completely untouched. Once that front line starts breaking down, you better hope your secondary can make the tackles. They just couldn't hold up.

It was his 3rd run in a row. Dude was feeling it.

Yeah, I don't want my comments to be construed as saying Kenny didn't play really well. The guy was amazing. I'm so glad he stayed.

I figured as much but some of these folks might run with those kind of comments...we have a great backfield, and I believe every one of these guys will have a moment to shine this season.

Bo Jackson couldn't have run through the amount of defenders in front of fournette saturday night in the 1st half.

So tell us where you played, stats, what year, what sport? The fact that you are also an athlete can give us kind of an insiders look into LF. Please let us know.

CSB.

It was just nerves, man. He'll still be a standout this season.

None of the backs did good until the 4th...

...when we started getting production from the passing game and forced them to pull back their safeties off the line - which they were never able to force LSU into - which let LSU stuff their run and force them to pass.

That's why it looked to me like LSU's running game woke up in the 2nd half and also why we weren't seeing Gordon in the 2nd.

Look at the bright side.

A huge dose of humility hasn't ever hurt anyone.

By all accounts, this will just make the kid stronger for the road ahead.

He would have gotten over 100 of he was the chosen one in the 4th. Mcgee would have too for that matter. Run D was pretty stout first 3 quarters

I'll probably never get this opportunity again, so I'm gonna run with it a little.

I was good enough at tennis to be accepted as a member of the LSU tennis team as a walk-on. That just meant the scholly guys would kick my arse day in day out on the courts. I was good with it though, scored me some tail because of that alone.

Between taking beatings on the court, I'd take my talents to the Union as I was also real good at both pool and Ping-Pong. Especially Ping-Pong. I grew up with a table on the patio. I'd crush the unsuspecting orientals with ease.

Good times.

Shitty blocking combined with the fact that everyone in the city of Houston knew when #7 is on the field that he's getting the ball led to a disappointing college debut. Leonard can use the experience as motivation. I almost feel sorry for our next opponent.

LF definitely seems like the type of individual to use this as motivation,he will still be a superstar.

Fanaika apparently did a great job blocking as all three runs in the fourth were behind him.

Fournette is better than Peterson, remember?

Why lie to make your point? I guarantee you can't link one person making that statement.

It seems there is a segment of LSU's fan base who revel in what they deem a failure of some of LSU's players. But that is true in real life as well. Normally those who are not high achievers themselves hope for the failure of those who are.

The Leonard Fournett hype was well earned by him. And it will be based on his full career at LSU, not one game where he was running against 9 in the box. Anyone concluding the hype is not warranted after one game, especially that game where the deck was stacked against any RB, was already predisposed to believe the hype wasn't warranted. They just needed something to support their position. They probably have argued to anyone who would listen that he will never live up to the hype.

I didn't see anything in that game that negated LF becoming all he was hyped to be. The same with Brandon Harris. Now if I was looking to argue he will be a bust, this one game is all I would need. Then it's "see I told ya!" It's all a matter of perspective.
