I'm sorry, I don't trust second string wal-mart security to be able to make those sort of judgment calls that even trained law officers seem to have trouble with.

He fricking stabbed the guy. STABBED. In the side, by vital organs, with force. He deserved everything they gave him after that.

You do realize that he was not yet restrained and was still actively fighting them when they were hitting him? You do realize that those strikes while brutal can be justified by the suspects decision to attack the LP employees who we assume are justified in detaining him.
I don't see a chance in hell that the guys would be charged criminally if this were to happen in Louisiana.
