Why is Twitch so popular? Why is it worth $1B?

First of all, why does there need to be a separate platform for gaming videos specifically? Why aren't there a separate platforms for food videos, or sports videos, or pet videos, selling for $1B?
Why would gaming videos be so popular to begin with? Why would I want to simply watch someone play a video game for any extended period of time, repeatedly? I could just play the game myself.

Why do people like watching Honey Boo Boo, Kardashians and all the other absolutely worthless celebrities?
It is entertainment to some.

From what I understand, streamers were getting frustrated with Youtube.

Make one I guess? Why do you hate free markets?

It's interesting to see more talented people than yourself play a game, and competitions are gaining more momentum. Hell, when I was involved in clan battles back in the early 2000s, we used to sit on Roger Wilco and wait to hear the results of other clan battles.

Why would I want to dress up like a furry and have furry sex with random people also dressed up life furries?

Sweet!

Same reason you watch other people live their lives for any extended period of time repeatedly.

In all seriousness, you reek of being a guy with a small penis who constantly has to act macho.
We get it, you drive an f450 and constantly work out. It's ok bro, some women love the smaller size.

pretty much
YouTube was (still is TBH) being a dick and letting frickers claim copyright on stuff like game reviews, Let's Play vids, and even rando compilation vids.
