At no point does it tell me why they did it. What was there point?
I think that they were making a metaphorical point about how the government has been gradually stripping away more of our civil liberties and how the concept of "privacy" is just an illusion.
Or possibly...

Well, we did this to the dorm mother back decades ago, then sneaked in/parked a Volkswagon by her door so that the first thing she saw was this car parked in the lobby. As this was back in the Nam days & no one wanted to get kicked out of school...and then given the opportunity to go fight for our country...we kept our mouths shut. There is a reason Nicholls is called "Harvard on the Bayou", i.e we were no dummies.

Am I the only guy who has no idea what is going on here?
So they took down a door in their own house, took a picture, and that prompted their arrest?
How would this not be a "hey, put my fricking door back up, clowns" situation?

Theft of tooty pannies, most likely.

I don’t know what the laws in Louisiana are like, but I know in that mosquito infested swampland, they call counties “parishes,” and I’ve seen every episode of “True Detective.” You could tell me these guys are getting probation or the chair and I wouldn’t be surprised either way.
not cool

No. i dont know what this about either.
So they popped the hinges on a door in their house. How does that equal arrest? Something doesnt add up.

Housemom (female) in a fraternity (male) house.
Invasion of privacy. Damaging private property.
Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Yeah, I don't get what's arrest worthy in that scenario. It's breaking and entering into the building that they own .

How does removing a door and taking a picture justify arresting someone?
What kind of crusty old bitter twat would call the cops for this? Damn people are soft these days.

I wonder if the House Mother's suite is considered as her own private home. This would warrant a breaking and entering arrest.

I guess I can see it hypothetically, but given the relationships usually involved, seems weird that it would go down like this unless there was more hostility involved (there may be).

Or a condo/apartment, wherein the landlord does the entry. But still, seems weird it would go this far.

If they are dumb enough to be doing this, your presumption may be a stretch.

The old house mom (Mom V) called it her apartment, so it could be something like that
