This thread delivers.

Actually it's most universal meaning is "a-hole".
Don't pull that shite in traffic in southern Italy.
So you believe more people see it as meaning "a-hole" versus "OK"? I never heard of it meaning the former. I'd hazard a guess that the overwhelming majority (98+%) on here see it as an "OK" sign rather that an "A-hole" sign.
I don't anticipate throwing the sign up in traffic in southern Italy. I've used it all my life and the response I have always gotten is a smile or a return of the sign. Who knew?

It's a European thing. Poors wouldn't understand.

I think I'm going to enjoy Tiger bait being replaced by U Suspect this season

I thought was the hand gesture of flicking a booger, or buga, as some members of the community may pronounce it.

According to Jeff Marx, who is writing a book on LSU off field stories including a chapter on Leonard Fournette, "Buga" was a term thrown around in Fournette's home. The slogan was "Buga, no sugar", i.e. don't candy coat it, just give it to me straight. "Be real, not fake" is how the other poster put it, which I thought was pretty straightforward.
Fournette is, according to what I've read, an outstanding individual who places a lot of value on leading by example and setting positive a positive example for those around him.
Very exciting to have that kind of kid on at LSU.

Also, booger sugar is a universal term for cocaine.

Be real, not fake.
Is LF being profound, or just confounding?

That's beautiful what is that, velvet ?

I've seen plenty comments concerning race on here. Both are stupid! So to make everything clear so we can go on everyone should know Leonard Fournette is BLACK and Trey Quinn is WHITE?
Technically you are wrong. People aren't black and white. We are all shades of Brown. People referred as white are lightest brown and people referred to as black are darkest brown.

No verbs allowed? You suspect. You are a suspect. I guess passing freshmen English is up in the air

It is that deep actually. During an interview before the UA AA game he explained the BUGA concept and how it helps govern the relationships with your family, friends and teammates. The hand sign is something he landed on after just sitting in the weight room staring at his hands between sets. He said that the unity prevents wedges from getting between people and the long term affect is positive energy/attitude. the hand thing is just a reminder to stay united and positive. I was very impressed with his maturity and perspective.
Be real, not fake is a valid synopsis of the concept.

Not close to freshman English. It is "You're suspect" or "you are suspect", but "Your are a suspect". Did you pass freshman English?

I had not seen that. What a great article and if what was written is true LF is a very special young man.
BUGA nation!
on a side note:
How does SUGA mean for "real not fake?"
Am I the only one seeing the unintentional/intentional play on the term "bugger sugar" aka coke?

Sure, but wouldn't you agree that Prince Charles is the exception?

I gave some people the big news that seemed so important to them thats all. I realize what your saying and agree. The point is why does it still even matter. Who cares about your race or where you grew up or how. All that matters is this team bonds blends and has a great season. They have been labeled unknown and young but they are tigers now and its time to unleash the beast and forget about all the other b.s.!

I hear that this kid is a pretty good football player.
