re: Trey Quinn should be used more

[quote]I actually think Diarse should be starting over Quinn.

Obviously the people who can make that decision dont think so and I'm sure there's a good reason. Not sure what you base your thinking on. At this moment it really doesnt matter who is playing that position. I cant see them actually being thrown to more. Based on skill and productivity along with all the things the coaches look for I believe he has earned the trust and confidence to be the best player for that position. If not he wouldn't be a starter. To do this as a true freshman speaks volumes!
Trey Quinn's passion and work ethic playing football is great. However to make a statement that he has more of a blue collar mentality than others on offense isn't fair. I'm a Trey Quinn fan as well and also a fan of many other players. Its would be great to see all of our players given the opportunity to showcase their talents and have great stats.
Trey has a great attitude and as long as he continues to work and do his part while staying motivated and being a team player his time will come. This is a team sport. This team has to continue to build chemistry. I'm sure the coaches will make ajustments with players their roles as they see fit. They see and know more about this team than any of us.
I also hope that adjustments are made and the potential of this team becomes a reality sooner than later. It just takes time replacing key positions and fine tuning everything effectively this fast.
When I go to the games I dont go for all the other crap! I go for one reason that is to watch the game! I dont get my tickets free and I have to take time off from work then drive a few hours. So while others may have other plans mine is to watch the game. If I wanted to drink or party etc I could do that without leaving town or wasting money.
Maybe fans leave regardless I cant speak for everyone. When I go to games I stay regardless. When we blow out a team running up the middle that gets old. We dont even have a respectable 2 minute drill. The most exciting game we had imo was when BH came in against Mississippi State. That was a balanced attack!
I think everyone knows LSU has talent. However, it's been embarrassing the way we've lost and boring the way we win. While defense and special teams seem to be getting better the offense is simply boring and painful to watch with missed opportunities and predictable plays. The style of offense we have wont keep fans in their seats.
This is a warm up year.
They shouldn't need more than one warm up game to be ready for games 2 and 3. I don't see those teams so stacked next year anyway.
However, they are the ones that need to be ready for a :spank:

People just don't get it!
Embarrassing!
Sure I will explain. This is the rant so lets all post dumb shite and see who has a melt down or falls for stupid shite. There's to many worthless fricks on the rant. The rant isn't for people who are sincere. The rant only wants to rant regardless of the situation or topic.
I get it so have fun.
While your at it do the world a favor and kill yourself.
The things I keep hearing and seeing around LSU.
Everyone thinks they can make better decisions about what this team needs and how or who should play. Also, everyone has reasons for leaving games early. Some want the coaches job.

When will everyone learn?
Regardless of the coaches we have and players. No program can be more successful if we fail to do our part. From the players to the fans. Win or lose. Your either in or out. Stop saying what someone else should be doing and just do your part. Support the mission.
When players learn to perfect their role and fans learn to support and defend our team then we will only be stronger and better.
When fans only show support when it's exciting for them what does that do for the team?
Unity builds strength. From players to the fans.
This will seem like a joke to some on the rant.
Stop living in the moment. See the larger picture.
Thing's are easy when everything is going good. Show some character and strength when things aren't so good.
This is suppose to be the Fighting Tigers.
Fight damit and not with each other but for each other and the team!
That's more like it.
You must be a student.
Fast learner!

Brandon Harris has shown potential to be the best quarterback LSU has ever had.
It's not just how strong his arm is or how well he runs. Its not even the vision he seems to have or how he progresses through his options. There are many great qualities he has shown.
He's a true freshman and the starting spot wasn't handed to him. He is driven. Most importantly he's a gamer and a winner.

It's the X factor. The swag factor.

Time will tell and he still has things to prove. He also has things he will learn with experience.
IMO he has a spark that experience and training can't teach. I believe with the keys we now have on offense, we now have potential to be unstoppable the rest of the season. If not this year look out 2015!
It's really exciting to watch this team develop.
The depth we have at WR is a good thing for LSU. Most of these guys would start at any college. Our top 5 guys all have the potential to be a star. However it really comes down to who gets thrown to and what route they run. On many plays we have multiple receivers open. Usually the receiver thats deepest gets the ball. Thats the star for that game. Some teams throw underneath coverage. We don't do much of that. So if you feel a player is deflated it might be cause they haven't had much opportunity to make plays. Each player has important roles. However, big plays and touchdowns are noticed the most. Maybe they could rotate routes and give them all time to shine. The short pass to TE's isn't glamorous but yet it's effective also. That just isn't something we do at LSU regardless of talent. Over the top deep passes or screens is the norm. The ability for each of these players to show more production/stats is possible in other offenses. Unfortunately with LSU you may not see the distribution you may like.
I just watched the replay again. He was really on a rope. Honestly it could have been argued either way. Because of the situation there was no challenge.
He wasn't clearly out. It wasn't obvious like if he stepped out two feet. They replayed it several times. It was a line call. If the edge of your foot barely touches the out line means your out then maybe he was. However, they would have had to zoom it in on his foot to see because it wasn't as obvious as some have said. Also, with it being a blow out and the game under control nobody cared enough to challenge the call. That's the bottom line.
I really like Harris and would also like to see him start. However I've been around sports enough to know what fans see isn't everything. Good or bad you just have to go with it and trust the program. Even within the program decisions aren't usually based on one persons opinion. Fans want explanations. Insight info and reasoning/explanations isn't a requirement and could expose things that wouldn't be beneficial for the team or players. While we pass judgment and give our opinions we really don't know or see everything.
This is a free site for people who dont want to pay. It is full of more people who are just trying to make a mess and aren't true fans. True fans have more class and respect for the program. So for the few sincere don't take it to heart. Yes it's sometimes to much and goes to far but have fun with it. This is the rant. Its full of every kind! If you hear something in person then stand up for your team but on here its pointless unless you just want to rant back at them for fun. Before it's over I will either be deleted or have the swat team surrounding me! I can be just as crazy as the crazy shite on here and even worse! Why not everything's allowed on here?
It doesn't really matter what you think. Obviously you dont know much about what your talking about or you would know he is playing the slot. What you may think doesn't make it necessarily a fact. His measurements are real as well as his speed and abilities. The part you said about him seeming frail and avoiding a solid hit, you just dont know him like the rest of the team or coaches! He is smarter than you realize. I love to see players truck right over the defender. However that isn't always the best thing for the position or play. Part of his job is staying healthy. He's more valuable that way. Don't worry. I've seen when it's called for as well as the ones who matter what this player can do! Everyone has the right to their opinion but it's simply that! Time will tell so just let the coaches do their job and let the players do their's. Thanks for your concern and attention! It's great that we have a fan base that is so concerned and focused on our great program and amazing athletes!

151 game winning streak?

Posted by LawAbidingFan on 9/23/14 at 1:14 pm
Pardon my grammer but I was inspired by the Rally Thread!
The 151 game winning streak really happen. While many elements played part in the streak. That kind of achievement wouldn't have been possible if it was all about the streak. I'm referring to DESALLE HiGH SCHOOL. You can also watch the movie : "When The Game Stands Tall". While many critics can shred the movie the record was real. Many values and lessons can be learned and studied.
Another inspirational story was the MIRACLE ON MCNEESE STREET. One of the greatest come backs that I failed to stay and watch. I was like many LSU fans who gave up when the team never did. I drove away with Barbe High School trailing West Monroe 27 points in the forth quarter in the state playoffs. I was listening on the radio while I was driving away from the game when the come back begin. I wanted to hurry back to the stadium. However, my wife being a superstitious baseball mom told me not to and that we had to keep driving around the block while we listened. In the last 2:11 they scored the last 3 touchdowns and won by 1 point sending them to the State Championship Game. This taught me a lesson!
While this past Saturday LSU didn't pull off the victory I wouldn't turn away. I never lost faith. I saw something that gives me hope. This team was the unknown coming into the season Les Miles said.
I think regardless of what everyone else says this team proved to me who they are now :
THE REAL LSU FIGHTING TIGERS.
I also have faith that the coaches and each player will grow from this. Many said before the season started we had a young but very talented team. Regardless of what others may say I believe we have the right keys to success and we WILL be winners. Lets give this team support to become the next great story!
