I'm glad I read your post before responding. Was about to say the same thing.

Yep. No one was killed in automobile accidents before ole Henry mass produced the car either.

The assets of some things outweigh the liabilities of other things.

It would be more effective if we armed all the children.

This isn't some school right out in the country mind you. This is in an area that's connected to the Dallas and Fort Worth Metro areas.

It's a good thing and will give would be gunmen incentive to reconsider their intents because that fish in a barrel just went poof for them.

bit of a dog/pony show ... argyle has a student population of about 3000 ... bit of a rural district, so guns in the hands of teachers probably isn't a big deal ... i can assure you that guns in the hands of teachers in a large populated district is a horrible idea, though most large districts are urban districts that use metal detectors ...

either way, keeps the students on their toes! ...

The staff can correctly be taken as a whole or as a sum of parts. In this context, "staff" is a group of concerned individuals.

Correct, which means there is only one staff and they have subject verb agreement wrong.

It should read "the staff is armed", not "the staff are armed"

And a growing suburb with some VERY expensive homes in the district (the Tour 18 development in nearby Flower Mound is in Argyle ISD, and there's new development with homes "starting in the high $700's").
