4 - Restaurants

This is not a hard topic because there are so many great places to eat, however I am sure there will be much debate. I have not organized these by location, but all of these restaurants are in the vicinity (10 minutes) of downtown. I have included addresses so you can link from your phone:

1) El Tiempo (Mexican) – Great food and margaritas, check out the location on Navigation! (2814 Navigation Boulevard, Houston Texas 77003)
2) Brooklyn Athletic Club (American) – Fun place to grab a bite and brew and play some horeshoes or table tennis ( 601 Richmond Avenue, Houston, TX)
3) Cook & Collins (American) – solid food and drinks and right next to all the bars in midtown (2416 Brazos St, Houston, TX 77006)
4) Reef (Seafood) – #47 of 7,000 restaurants in Houston via trip advisor. Close to midtown bars (2600 Travis St, Houston, TX 77006)
5) Niko Nikos (Greek) – solid menu and fun vibe although many will argue that Aladdins is much better and they may be right. There is also a location downtown in the park (2520 Montrose Blvd, Houston, TX 77006)
6) Tacos a Go-Go (Mexican) – Great food and best breakfast burritos in the city (3704 Main St, Houston, TX 77002)
7) BB’s Café (Cajun) – Surprisingly great cajun food and fun atmosphere (2710 Montrose Drive)
8) The Blue Fish (Sushi) – Great ambiance outside on the patio in the middle of the city (550 Texas St Houston, TX 77002)
9) Hearsay Gastrolounge (American) – Awesome old building, great food and drinks (218 Travis St, Houston, TX 77002)

I am sure this list will be up for debate, however it would be impossible to list every great restaurant in Houston. These are all decently priced (except Reef) and I will continue to add to this list throughout the week. Throw in your suggestions!

LSU kicks off their season right here in Houston, TX this year and we're throwing a party to celebrate. On Friday, August 29 our normal Pub Night will transform into an LSU Tiger rally party the night before the matchup between Wisconsin and LSU at NRG Stadium. All Bayou Bengals are welcome (and everyone else too, for that matter) to join us in our tour hall from 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM where we'll have regular beers on tap all night long for $4 and will have some special releases from our cellar available for purchase as well.

Between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM that night will be Tiger Power Hour where we'll donate $1 from every pint sold to LSU Houston. There will be reps from LSU Houston on hand as well with a silent auction with Tiger merchandise and memorabilia.

The 2014 football season starts in Houston, TX and there is no way PGA would miss this opportunity to throw our biggest party yet!
We’ve teamed up with Capitol Bar Midtown, LSU alums Cajun Traditions Catering, and our old friend David Borne’ to make sure we start the season off bigger and better than we ever have before!
Come join us at Capitol Bar starting at noon on August 30th. They have agreed to give us special pricing on drinks and shots throughout the day and if you don’t have a ticket to the game they have more than enough TVs so you won’t have to worry about leaving. If you have tickets to the game, great news – you won’t have to drive! The Bar is located right next to Houston’s Light Rail that will take you right to the stadium.
Food is included with the price of the party. Nick Duhe’ and Ryan Broussard will be there with their Cajun Traditions Catering to make sure you stay full throughout the day. Duhe’ and Broussard come from Gonzales, LA – which all but guarantees their food is the best in Houston.
Finally, for entertainment we’ve brought back David Borne’ from Baton Rouge by way of Nashville, TN. Many of you are very familiar with David’s music but for those who aren’t, he’s an artist who will play anything from blues, to rock, to country and he’s even been known to cover a little R&B.
Tickets are $25 in advance

Midtown - Best place to be if you are 21-30 or looking to party

No mention of Front Porch Pub? I'd argue this is the best bar in midtown with plenty of outdoor seating and televisions; their frozen Blue Moon is great.

Midtown is a terrible location for parking, as well. Be aware of where you park because this is prime real estate for tow trucks.

Downtown Bars

Warren's & La Carafe (Houston's oldest bars and pour the strongest drinks), Captain Foxheart's Bad News Bar (speakeasy style), Goro & Gun, Notsuoh, Dean's? These are where I'd send people.

Tacos a Go-Go (Mexican) – Great food and best breakfast burritos in the city (2912 White Oak Dr, Houston, TX 77007)

The one on Main St. is the better one, in my opinion. Don't skip out on the Flan. Serve breakfast burritos all day.
