I want to start a lifting routine that will last 45 minutes to an hour (max). I will be running at least a mile and a half before lifting, but I will be going 5 times a week (Monday thru Friday) during my lunch break. I want to add muscle but most importantly I want to slim down and gain some muscle definition. Is there a good website/App or is someone here knowledgeable enough to build a workout routine for me?

bodybuilding.com

bodyspace app

You can create a workout from scratch or use a pre-made one, or a celebrity one. All can be published to a calender. Each day you open app and hit today track work out, and a list of lifts comes up with sets/reps and space to enter weights. As you progress it tracks weights, maxouts etc. and times your rest periods.

It is awesome.

bodybuilding.com is one of the most underrated websites/customer service companies out there.

Sounds like you need to cut out the 1.5 miles before lifting, and do some sprints or HIIT as the cardio to supplement your lifting. And whatever program you end up doing, make sure you squat, deadlift, bench every week. Stronglifts 5x5 is a good program for beginners, I believe

I've been on this plan for 4 months now.

Absolutely incredible. It will take over an hour though.

Myfitnesspal app. Diet is way more important for your goals than anything.

Can't really do both unless you are on steroids. But as mentioned, ditch the 1.5 miles before...that's too much if you're looking to gain.

Check out the Bulldozer 4 day split...I started it yesterday, and like it so far. It's high intensity so shouldn't be a need for much cardio in addition to it...maybe 30 minutes twice a week, if anything.

Look at Stronglifts. It's a 3 day a week program that can have you pushing pretty heavy after 3 months or you can slowly work your way up through the lifts.

I use JeFit app. Made my own routines.

I lift like a meathead so the professionals on this site will tell you I don't know what I'm doing.

Hugh jackmens wolverine workout is on there.

Probably take care of what you're looking for.

I highly recommend a celeb or premade plan. If you're new to lifting, it will be difficult to make one from scratch and keep up with when and what you're supposed to be doing

Ignore that it's written by a woman; much if not all of what's there is applicable to men, and it's a great no-bullshite site.

Get your caloric intake right where you need/want it for your goal, start doing more olympic lifts, and possibly look into intermittent fasting. Im not sure how the rest of the board feels about it, but Ive been doing it for about one month and I love it. Ive had very noticeable bodyfat % drops and Ive gained weight doing it.
