OT Workout Enthusiasts - I Need Help (update page 4)

I want to start a lifting routine that will last 45 minutes to an hour (max). I will be running at least a mile and a half before lifting, but I will be going 5 times a week (Monday thru Friday) during my lunch break. I want to add muscle but most importantly I want to slim down and gain some muscle definition. Is there a good website/App or is someone here knowledgeable enough to build a workout routine for me?

bodybuilding.com
bodyspace app
You can create a workout from scratch or use a pre-made one, or a celebrity one. All can be published to a calender. Each day you open app and hit today track work out, and a list of lifts comes up with sets/reps and space to enter weights. As you progress it tracks weights, maxouts etc. and times your rest periods.
It is awesome.
bodybuilding.com is one of the most underrated websites/customer service companies out there.

Sounds like you need to cut out the 1.5 miles before lifting, and do some sprints or HIIT as the cardio to supplement your lifting. And whatever program you end up doing, make sure you squat, deadlift, bench every week. Stronglifts 5x5 is a good program for beginners, I believe

True, there is no secret lift.
Olympic style lifts are still the best. You can literally shape yur body anyway you want with the standard lifts.
You HAVE TO change sets/reps and orders/intensity to shock your muscles though.

That's the name of the program I was doing at one point before I lost motivation I think it was the weight increase interval that had me scratching my head. I really need to focus on my 1.5 mile run for the time being because I have my military PT test coming up soon and want to make sure I can ace it. i ran it last year in 11:05, so I want to keep at that pace or improve on it. I will definitely be putting in some Sprints afterwards though.

I've always heard that squats were the best total body workout because it works just about every muscle in your body. What are Olympic style lifts?

basic 5x5 routine is your answer

I would run after weightlifting. But, that's my opinion. I know a lot of trainers prefer cardio after weightlifting.

Myfitnesspal app. Diet is way more important for your goals than anything.

Can't really do both unless you are on steroids. But as mentioned, ditch the 1.5 miles before...that's too much if you're looking to gain.
Check out the Bulldozer 4 day split...I started it yesterday, and like it so far. It's high intensity so shouldn't be a need for much cardio in addition to it...maybe 30 minutes twice a week, if anything.

Squats
Deadlifts
cleans
snatches
bench press
those should be the core of every work out. You add special work around those lifts.
You will burn more fat doing a leg day with squats and deadlifts than you could burn in a week running miles

just my opinion, Walk. On a treadmill, high incline 3.0-3.5 mph. This will put you in a fat burning zone and not eat muscle gains. Also if you can walk before eating is best.

Look at Stronglifts. It's a 3 day a week program that can have you pushing pretty heavy after 3 months or you can slowly work your way up through the lifts.

I use JeFit app. Made my own routines.
I lift like a meathead so the professionals on this site will tell you I don't know what I'm doing.

I've got the diet part down. Eating healthy has never been the issue for me as I prefer to eat healthy. Chicken/Brown Rice/Vegetables every day for lunch. I've just never had the muscle definition or muscle mass to be proud of.

Mouton, how do you get your fats in?

On the subject.
On the Arnold Blueprint. A month or so back I posted how bad I wanted 315 on BP.
Well, 2 weeks ago.

What do you drink?
If it is anything besides
Water
Coffee
alcohol-wise - clear Rum
you are killing your ability to get cut
