He's playing until he's 45, so that puts him #1 on both lists.

Among the top 3. I don't see him passing up Favre, but if he does play until 45 like he wants to he'll be on top for sure.
We'll have to see where Manning ends up too at his retirement.

Third all-time in yardage and TD's

To pass Favre in four years, Brees needs to average:
5,189.26 yards
36.26 TDs
To pass Favre in 5 years, Brees needs to average:
4,151.41 yards
29 TDs
although passing Favre will likely only put him in 2nd place.

I think breaking records is important to Manning. Can't imagine him stopping until he passes Favre in both catagories. Brees will end 2nd or third.

very important as well as losing super bowls
ETA: Drew has 3 years to make up for 13k yards behind manning. Drew is on a as good or better pace as peyton so if drew plays as long as peyton, drew can pass is yardage mark.

For passing yards and TD passes:
1) Manning
2) Favre
3) Brees
EDIT:
And, hopefully, one more Super Bowl ring.

Since being in New Orleans, Drew has averaged 40.4 TDs per season and 4841.6 yards per season.
At that rate, he will pass Favre's TD record in the middle of the 2017 season and pass his yardage record at the beginning of the 2018 season.
Not sure he will ever pass Peyton in either category.
I pulled up the list. Eli is about the next closest in numbers among active QBs. He's 33. Ben Rothlesberger is right behind him and he's 32.
Alex Smith is 30 years old. I forgot how young he was. Luck has put up some great numbers in only two years. He and Cam are 25.
It takes a lot of luck to last that long and be as good as the guys on the top of that list.

If he plays till 40 he'll push Manning for #1 in both. If not, I still think he finishes top 3 in both categories.

he could finish top 3 in both categories with his eyes closed

Probably number 3 on both lists

2nd behind Manning in both, but a lot closer in yards than a lot are thinking.

4 years passes Favre in yardage

Brees will probably finish 2nd, behind Manning.
Both will pass Favre, but I expect Manning's ego will drive him to keep playing long past his prime, to secure every record.
I think Brees will be more driven by pride, and he will retire when he's no longer playing at an elite level.

He winds up on both in 2nd place all-time at minimum. I think he has a chance to be the yardage king though. Manning has the TD's locked up most likely.

agreed.

I think that's wishful thinking. Brees is competitive and I think he will play as long as he can. I mean look at how many "franchise quarterbacks" go to different teams when they are past their primes if they aren't injured. Joe Montana, Donovan McNabb, Boomer Esiason, Warren Moon, Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, Steve McNair, or Randall Cunningham and even Peyton Manning. Occasionally you get a Dan Marino or Jim Kelly, but usually those guys move on to keep playing.
