Arse's fatty weekend rewind (Dolce Vita, Polo Lounge, Biscuits & Buns, 700 Club)

I planned on a heavy weekend of debauchery. So Thursday, I left work and started to pound in anticipation of the weekend. I took in a few adult beverages and hit the pool. After drinking for a couple of hours, I decided to carbo load with some Dolce Vita.
Chips with truffle oil and shaved parm. Ranch dipping sauce.
Half margherita half bianca
I also had a salad w/ several Canebrakes.
Friday I left work early to celebrate a friend's birthday weekend. We went to Galatoire's 33, The Polo Lounge, and Lafitte's.
I ordered the tartar at 33, but I forgot to take a picture. It was amazing. Only thing that could have made it better was if they placed a little yolk on top.
At the Polo lounge, I had several old fashions and caviar. The caviar is a local product called Cajun Caviar. My buddy makes it. This run had a little ghost pepper in it. It was the shite.
We then went to Lafitte's for some drinks. They retired and I continued on to Bacchanal. There I grabbed a cheese plate, burrata and a skirt steak (w/ more cocktails).
From there, I went to bed. I awoke on Saturday at the crack of dawn to wash my car while it was still a little cool. I worked up an appetite from all the running of errands that occurred. I decided to give Biscuits & Buns a shot. It's BYOB, and Banks Street Bar is next door if you want a cocktail. I decided to roll with the Champagne of Beers. They didn't have glasses, so the guests were drinking mimosas out of coffee mugs. (This is the kind of shite that puts a restaurant over the top in my books. Improvisation goes a long way.)
I got pot roast and a biscuit. But since I was counting calories, I requested that they throw an additional poached egg on that shite.
My friend got grilled watermelon with some cheese and arugula. This was amazing.
The only down side was the air did not seem to be working. It was jungle hot in there. I almost requested an egg to see if it would cook in my shorts.
Since I was so sweaty, I went home to shower before hitting up the 700 Club with the boys. Their food consisted of mostly bar food, but it could be put up against any in the city.
Check out these cute cupcakes.
After the party, it was the after party. I headed to Frenchmen to take in DJ Manny Fresh. I decided I needed more protein. You can't lose with a chicago dog from Dat Dog.
I went home after the show to get some rest before mass. After getting my praise on, I went to Lafitte's to have a few cold ones. I think some OT poster was there. I was too frightened to introduce myself. His non-sleeve look just screamed, "I'll kill you."
From Lafitte's, I went to Stanley. I got the Eggs Stanley, Shrimp Poor boy, gumbo w/ potato salad and reuben. The Stanley was awesome along with the gumbo. Stanley is always consistent.
For my last meal of the weekend, I went to my bro's to grill some burgers. We've all seen good burgers before, so I won't bore you. But I did go to town on my stuffed artichoke.
Stay fat, my friends.

Potato salad and rice in the gumbo? I'm all for potato salad in gumbo, but it should be one or the other IMO.

I agree. I wasn't going to send it back over that. I usually ask for no rice. I forgot to.

I'm not sure what my plans for this weekend will be. As of now, I know I'll be at the Pelican Club on Friday.
I had a huge, fatty BBQ to attend on Sunday, but my fantasy draft is starting at the same time. My secretary usually runs everything for me, but she'll be at the BBQ. FML.
I hoping there will be some good bites before the Boyz II Men, Keith Sweat and En Vogue concert.

I'll go back in the cooler months. It was miserable in there. The food was great though, and it was reasonably priced.
