re: Is anyone else sick of the damn Les Miles/grass shtick?

Hadn't thought about him in a while until watching the AU/Oregon game tonight. I watched him in Tiger Stadium before an LSU game, and that dude didn't spend a single moment working with his guys during Pregame, He stood at midfield and chatted with LSU guys, no doubt players he recruited, but never worked out his receivers at all. Of course, when the team huddle started he jumped in the middle to lead the chanting.


Now that, I do know as fact.

Secondly... Do you ever hear someone say "Oh LSU? The place where everyone eats grass?" No... You don't. Some people do say "Oh Les Miles? That coach that's eats grass?"

You are making it out to be much bigger than it actually is. It's a funny stunt that the media caught wind of and ran with it. That's it. It doesn't go beyond that. Just like Nick Saban eating his Little Debbie Oatmel cream pies, Spurrier and his witty / sarcastic answers and his love of golf, Muschamp yelling, Urban Meyer being a whiny douche, etc.

Is it dumb and over played? Sure. Do I actually care when I see a commercial about it and Les? No. It doesn't bother me because it's not a big deal. You're acting like it's defined our program.

I've never seen Saban eat little Debbie's on the sideline or Saban making a little Debbie smoothie on national TV

this. this... 1000x this. CLM has a great sense of humor and isn't a controlling, maniacal douche! He let's his players have fun, and I don't think the whole grass eating thing gets to him anyway. He takes it with a smile when ESPN hands him grass to eat when in Bristol...and he'll let you make fun of him, but don't you dare make the mistake of making fun of his team or LSU.

I for one think when it is applied correctly the grass joke is still funny.

Miles doesn't care about it and in fact plays it up to his full advantage. No one should be worried about this.
