Unless you're married with kids you have no reason to spend the money to live in Mountain Brook.

Crestwood, Crestline, Highland Park and Avondale is where the single womenz at.

But, wouldn't the single women in those areas be hubby-hunting for the guy who can afford to live in Mountainbrook?

So are you asking what part of town to chill in for a hotel only or where to rent an apt?

You'll enjoy yourself around the Southside/Avondale area if you like the urban vibe. Go to Saw's and get some of those smoked wings.

I guess it depends on who your after. I'm chasing 22-27 year old skanks so they are amazed I own my own house, period.

If he is after top tier 28 year old OT 10s, then yea, he should be in Mountain Brook. Most MB girls are pretty damn materialistic and expect to do nothing but go to the gym and look hot while you work your arse off all day.

If that's your cup of tea, go for it.

$100 says you haven't been in the past 5 years. City is turning around big time.

Birmingham as in Birmingham or one of the suburbs?

If actual Birmingham, I suggest:

Update wills & life insurance policies.
Body armor
At least one mean dog
Guns & ammo. Lots and lots of ammo.

Oh, also an extended life battery for playing on your phone while standing in line for your car tags and a high limit credit card for paying your sewer bill.

Which one has the best women? You assured me before that I could count on not getting laid in Midland, and a more accurate prediction couldn't be possible.

Well, just tell me this, is Mountain Brook the place to live if you're in your 20s, or somewhere else?

Sure if you are a multi-millionaire. Most of the mid 20's young professionals live downtown in the new apartments/townhomes/condos being built, or in Homewood (just south of downtown over the mountain). Birmingham is great. You will like it. Plenty to do and only a 2-3 hour drive from Nashville and Atlanta.

Most folks here are stupid. B'ham is a cool town. The only thing that keeps me from living there is that its 250+ miles from saltwater.

Eta: I include the suburbs when I say Bham, not just the city proper. Ona's is though.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I remember when areas like Roebuck & Center Point were really nice back in the 70's & 80's and now they're ghetto shitholes. But there are parts of Birmingham that have seen marked improvement and revitalization. This is especially true of the Southside of downtown.
