Any OTers Hike Eagle Rock Loop in Arkansas?

Going there Tuesday.
On most reviews I've read it says that the trail is really well marked, but I've seen a few say that they got off trail quite a bit. Is it pretty easy to follow? Also, another thing I am worried about is phone service. I've read that there's basically none, which would suck arse with me being out there likely 3 days, because I need my phone for multiple things, especially if something were to happen. Will I get service (AT&T), and are there spots to camp that I will get service?

I've not hiked that particular trail, but I've hiked in the area, and trails are generally well marked and easy to follow.
Why not take the opportunity to ditch the electronics for a while? You might like it. Connect with nature instead of whatever's on your phone. If you're worried about getting lost or having a mishap, go with someone more experienced or get more experience yourself before going solo. If you need to be available for other reasons, delay your trip until you can be out of the loop for a few days.
You didn't ask for my opinion, but staying tethered to the outside word is the wrong way to experience the outdoors.

I'd just like to be able to send a text to a few people at some point as well. Even if I am just saying "Hey, I'm fine".
It's not that I will be on my phone the whole time, because I am absolutely not like that. I will be out there to enjoy it, but would like to have reception of some sort for emergencies, and to be able to communicate, at least some. If there is one part on the entire trail that I can get service, that would be fine with me.

You a brave man going to the Ouachitas at the end of summer. You must want to see that Bigfoot everyone claims is around Caddo Gap.

Hiked it a few years ago and it was well marked and easy to follow. Have no idea on cell coverage. Took phone but it never left my bad. Make sure you have plenty to drink.

There's actually a few spots but it's spotty at best. Further south and east you are the worse it'll be.

Yep hiked it many times.
There is no phone service in the Albert Pike area until you get to this small store on where highway 84 and 369 meet. Although if you climb to the very top of some of the taller mountains you will get phone service sometimes.

don't be a slave to your phone.
Can't speak for that area but in my experience Verizon has the best coverage in the backwoods.
If you have sprint or att you are generally out of luck.

Did it in 2.5 days years ago. Do it in the spring, it's tough in summer. Leave your phone somewhere else.

But seriously if you wanna see one of the coolest places in the Ouachitas, go North of Albert Pike up through the camping sites. It's about 15-20 min drive but there's a place called the Blue Hole. It's an old rock quarry that filled up from an underwater spring. BEAUTIFUL place and you can hike up to the top of it. It also has 3 or 4 different cliffs to jump off, 15 ft, 40 foot, and a 70 footer. Don't climb to the 70 footer unless you gonna jump, ain't no way down safely!!!

Wow, 70 ft jump sounds ridiculous
