Who surprised. How did our lines play in the 1st couple of series. Maybe a couple sarcastic lines on cooks. Did Ryan hair look fabulous? Did our secondary communicate well?
Did jimmy have more snaps in the slot or Te?

Too early in the morning for all those questions.
Quick impressions:
Griffin made a strong case to be the #2 QB.
Of the rookies who played, Powell and Warren did OK. Dixon and Coleman looked really bad.
The Dline is still having a lapse stopping the run.
The LBs are still having a problem covering the screen pass.
The RBs (yes, including Ingram) looked really good.
Cooks looked like he was well worth the cost of moving up.
Graham didn't help himself by missing an extra point.
ETA: Forgot to mention that KV continued his leadership role in the secondary. He plays and acts like he's a seasoned vet.

The o-line looks great in run blocking.
McCown is doo doo.
We're stacked at safety.
The younger QB's need to step up.

Had to split at HT, how'd the DBs look in the 2nd half?
Posted on 8/9/14 at 7:36 am to S
The DBs looked pretty bad. Brian Dixion was absolutely terrible.

Really thought his hair would make a difference.

Gonna have to agree. Also, don't watch ESPN this morning expecting to hear about how well the Saints played......all they're talking about is Michael Sam's 1 tackle.

The starting DBs looked great imo. SJB just looked lost at times. Trevin wade was the same. Other then that no one's name was even called.

Unless Dixon elevates his game in a hurry, he won't even see the PS and might be one of the first cuts. He looked like he had never played the position in his life.
Watching Dixon last night was like watching a Chihuahua screw a Coke bottle.

Outside of Pierre Warren none of the UDFA's even remotely looked decent last night.

Did you see Jazzy Jeff's "Michael Sam shows he belongs" article this morning?
LINK
quote:
His official stat line: one tackle, one quarterback hit in about 2½ quarters of work.
But his meager numbers belied his performance. Sam showed he belonged on an NFL field, even if most of the time he was matched up against guys that will be working in other professions a month from now.
One, ONE tackle in 2.5 quarters of play? Really Jeff? REALLY? That shows he belongs? WTF?

Looks like a classic case of protecting one of your own.

I repectfully disagree. The beauty of nature can be seen through a Chihuahua screwing a coke bottle. There is no beauty to be had when talking about Brian Dixon's football performance.

have an Upvote.
Run game was absolutely dominant. Cooks looked great. His TD, only a handful of players could have made that catch, cut-back, and acceleration to the end zone. Thought that play was incredible.
With Brees & our starting pro bowl guards back in the lineup, we will be scary good on offense.
D gave up some plays but I am not concerned. If anything, it just showed the disparity in talent in the NFL is slim.
13-3, 1-seed!

agreed on the running game looking great (aside from Graham and Armstead i think both missing their block on a sweep for a loss) - it was very encouraging.
What wasnt encouraging is that we seemed to throw it more than i would have liked given the dominance, but i get its preseason and were not trying to wear down the other team so i digress.

I thought powell looked much better than OK.
I'll add more:
Walker was a beast. They couldn't block him for the majority of the game.
Humber looked very solid and imo should start. Hawthorne looked slow.
OLine was really impressive against a loaded Dline in the rams.
Kilgore was really bad.

No shite. I went to espn.com to read about the game and it was all about Sam. Blah blah blah. So he is gay. Who gives a shite.

I was watching the NFLN highlight and they literally talked about him for a minute on a 2:30 highlight.
For fricks sake
