Ehhh...I guess I was hoping for a marquee home game...oh well. Then again, that UMass game should be good.

Guess the staff thinks we're good enough this year to get in without OOC RPI playing a big factor?

Better hope the Arkansas FB game doesn't get moved to the day or there will be no one there for the home opener.

This is a really bad schedule. Not really happy about it at all.

Major dissapointment in the non-conference schedule. Its pathetic that we can't schedule a premier team at home or on the road. Obviously our schedule makers paid no attention to how important playing top 25 teams in november and december is. Win or lose, playing tough teams early on helps your rpi. Teams with RPIs of 250 or lower shouldnt be scheduled. Especially when there are no top 25 teams to balance them out.

That's a pretty weak schedule. We can't afford to have any screw ups ooc like we did last year.

LSU Basketball Non-Conference Schedule Announced

Wow, truly pathetic.

Not sure I am going to renew. Really, absolutely zero effort put forth.

Any work on this was put forth last year with return games.

This invisible tournament they are playing in was set up by LSU Sports Properties(CBS owned). Guess what, its on CBS Sports Network, which is not on COX Cable in LA. Trying to get people to call to Cox to add CBSSN to their sports package.

WVU set up by ESPN

So since scheduled was finalized last year, lets see what they accomplished by looking for games.

Morehouse
Gardner Webb
McNeese State
Sam Houston State
Charleston
Southern Miss
Savannah State

I'm not saying we have to, but we really need to run the table or lose at most 1 of those OOC games. The SEC will be very weak once again and we cant expected to make the NCAAT if we lose a few of those OOC games and then go something like 10-8/11-7 in the SEC.

I mean it's not great but it's not nearly as bad as some of the past schedules. Did we at least fill all our slots?

Tech, Clemson (hopefully), Umass, WV, UAB, and Southern Miss are all decent games.

Lsu typically fails at scheduling good home opponents accross the board. At least they try to come up with excuses for poor non-conference home schedules in football & baseball. They are mostly BS, but they still come up with excuses. Football - nobody wants to play in tiger stadium. Baseball - the SEC is so good, there is no need for a strong non-conference schedule. Basketball - they have no excuse. I honestly believe that whoever is in charge of making schedules is either completely lazy or has no negotiating skills whatsoever. The terrible thing is is that fans are actually getting excited about bball and considering buying season tickets, but as soon as they release such a terrible non-conference home schedule those fans go back to just buying single game tickets. Lsu really needs to rethink who they assign to work on these schedules, because whoever does it now is incompetent and not deserving of the position.

I would have liked to have seen y'all play a tougher schedule, but as long as you win these games, your RPI will still be decent before SEC play. Just avoid the terrible losses that Alabama can never seem to do.

From what I read, LSU is more highly thought of for the coming season than any of their ooc opponents which is a bit disappointing. Should make for a lot of wins but they'll need to pull a couple of upsets in conference to move up the pecking order for the dance once again. Oh well.
