Because the folk on the left are in general incapable of critical thought and have no idea about Islam or what it involves. After about twenty min. in a Sharia ruled state they would shite themselves. Islam is the largest monolithic group of ultra conservatives on the planet, and they allow no dissent.
This is total nonsense. Labeling all Muslims as fundamentalist is as intellectually dishonest as labeling all Christians or Jews as fundamentalist. So many folks like you are so quick to judge people collectively rather than judging individuals on their own merits, but they would have stroke if someone judged their tribe by its least common denominator.

Like you judge the Jews?

Within the confines of what he actually posted, it really isn't judging individuals. He specifically mentioned Sharia-governed countries. All of what he said is true in that context.
Eta: the last sentence of his is incorrect, to be sure. The conservatives aren't even monolithic. Let alone the moderate Muslims.

So, do you have an answer to he OP question?
btw: Not sure I would consider a comment or opinion about the laws of a nation to be judging by the lowest common denominator?
Sounds to me like you have someone you care about that is Muslim and are responding out of emotion.

Adultery, domestic violence, and blowing shite up and murdering people isnt a pretty low fricking common denominator a-hole.

well, the OP didn't do this--he just said socially conservative, which an overwhelming majority of the world's mutlins are.

There is truth in this statement. Many on here conflate Muslim with Middle Easterner in the same way that conservative and liberal get interchanged with Republican and Democrat, respectively.
There are a lot of Muslims living in other parts of the world who are peaceful moderates. The fundamentalist suicide bombing Muslim is fairly unique to the Middle Eastern region and its exports.
Edit: And I should say not all MEers are fundies. Look at Iranian society pre-Islamic Revolution.
