Don't know why you guys are so anxious to see WoW go away.
It frees up 5 million or so people who will go to new games.. that's alot of money used to produce another top notch game that will hopefully wear the crown for a few years.
I hope that game is Arche Age.. it's the best MMO created in the last 10 years probably.

IMO MoP just sucked
eh. I think it was a pretty average expansions. Not great but not bad either. WOD from what I've heard will be a great expansion
although the pvp has been terrible

Talent points were cool,
Just wondering but why does everyone keep saying the old talent system was good? It was awful.

Why I quit WoW:
Time consuming. Simply couldn't put the 20+ hours per week in anymore to farm, craft, sell, buy, and be equipped with enough flasks, potions, glyphs, enchantments, etc for a serious raid anymore. Also, I work early mornings and can't be up in the evenings because I have to sleep for work the next day - have never found a raid that runs afternoons.
Every class is the same. Everyone has their interrupts, stuns, combos, pets, etc. It's so damn frustrating to be in pvp and get stun locked over and over and over again.
I loved the game because $15/month is cheap as hell in comparison to people buying 10-15 console games per year.

I feel like it's easy to come to that conclusion when you look at trends like that, but lets hold on a minute and remember that World of Warcraft actually peaked in subscriber-base near the end of Wrath of the Lich King. Also, you may say that WoTLK was also the game's slowest period of growth, but lest we forget, the game had already been released for 5 years by that point. Pretty much anyone who was going to be interested in WoW had already heard of it and had tried it.
Subscriptions began to drop when Blizzard temporarily altered their design philosophy with difficult endgame content in Cataclysm. They dropped even further when Blizzard nerfed the content.
I might argue that people left WoW because Cataclysm was too hard. The nerfs to content didn't bring people back, and people left over Blizzard making the game "easy" again.
World of Warcraft is now fast approaching it's 10th anniversary. That means it's a decade old. WoW is an old game. People are just tired of it.
MMORPG subscriptions are down across the board, and I feel strongly that a lot of backlash towards Destiny is largely due to how apathetic most people are towards MMOs in 2014.

Arche Age.
This looks good, but I'm ready for something space themed again with similar concepts.

You mean specking the tree out? Yeah that sucked because there were so many fluff items to grab.

I will say that I do enjoy the hell out of Hearthstone - I played Magic way back in the early days up until Tempest and have gotten hooked on Hearth, even if I suck arse at it because I'm not spending $50/month like some folks are.

I was addicted for a few months when it was still in beta.
The paucity of cards resulted in a repetitive experience that ultimately became dull. Additionally, RNG seems to play a more prominent factor in dictating the outcome of a match when compared with similar games. This effectively normalizes the skill gap at a specific threshold, resulting in diminishing returns in terms of the temporal investment.
I've seen plenty of "professional" players go 3-3 (or worse) in the Arena, even with competent decks.

Arche Age grabs a ton of concepts for its core gameplay from EVE, which has been around for 11 years now.

I thought Eve was pretty intense and way too open world, and I never thought I'd ever say that. The game is really good though.

It's certainly not for the faint of heart/non-hardcore. Most intense yet rewarding game I've ever played. I come back to it every year or so.

On this note, they are releasing the cinematic for WoD and announcing its release date this coming Thursday. That's going to stop the losses and be the start of the cyclical people coming back.
