glock 35 is the long barrel(competition) 40 cal. don't think it's the best for concealed carry.

The best Glock help I can give is to buy a S&W M&P.

A full sized glock will probably be a bitch to conceal.

Id go with the glock 23. It's the mid sized model. Small enough to conceal, big enough to shoot comfortably.

The 23 is the best all around, but for concealed carry I would go with the 27. One good thing about Glocks, if you buy more than one in the same caliber you can share magazines using the larger capacity magazines in the smaller pistols.

Get a glock 19 in 9mm instead.

Are you dead set on 40? For the most part, 9mm, 40, and 45 all do pretty much the same thing. But smaller guns in 9mm are much easier to shoot. Then again, if you get a 5 inch, a 40 probably wouldn't be so bad.

A 5 inch gun would be a good one for home defense but for carry it isn't ideal. I understand you specify open carry, but if you plan on getting a CC permit soon, why not get something mid-sized or compact? It would have a shorter slide and a shorter frame.

Carrying a 5" gun is only difficult if you aren't King Ranch. The bastard conceals a 5" Colt Delta Elite. Don't ask me how because I don't know the answer...

bapple is spot on w/ his comments. If you're dead set on oc/cc/shooting a 40 Glock, PLEASE try one out before actually buying one.
