Just watched the news in Austin, where the city council is looking to vote, soon, on banning holding, not just using, but only just HOLDING your phone if you are driving.
No mention, yet, what the fine would be, but frick! Fined for holding a phone? This country is in the shitter, run by idiots.

All that does is make people try and hide it better which leads to them taking their eyes off the road even more.

It can wait. And don't tell me you don't furrow your brow when you finally catch up to, get along side of and pass that fricking a-hole who is texting at 31 in a 45.
Enough is enough.

They dont enforce texting or talking while driving laws anyway

it's actually pretty smart.
when I'm HOLDING my phone I am 100% more likely to see and answer a txt, browse the internet, send an email, etc.
if my phone is just in my pocket or in a cup holder, and I know i'm not allowed to touch it, then I have a better chance of just being patient from point A to B
the shitty part is GPS…this is almost always why I have the phone in my hand

Yes...I'm not very good at multitasking, so I just start my iPod playing and drive. I don't really look at my phone again until I get where I'm going.

in Louisiana you can't text and drive. BUT you can adjust a GPS on a phone and drive.
GOOD loophole if you need to get out of a ticket.

I never hold my phone while driving.

Why the frick would you just want to hold your phone? If it's in your hand you're using let's be honest.

I can't say I hold my cell phone when I drive. It is either in my purse or in the door pocket. I can function fine when my phone is not in my hand. Cell phones are an addiction.

I always place my phone under my ball sack while driving.

I pick my cell phone up maybe 3 times a day and check my missed calls. If there are any that I think might be important, I call them back, but NOT while driving.
