Become the dominant force he was supposed to be?

Middle of the road and off the team next year?

What happens with this clown?

get a 5 yard gain then beat his chest as if he broke Eric Dickerson's season rushing record

I heard an interview with Mark Ingram the other day on WWL. They ask him about the upcoming season and he immediately said something like "this season is very huge for me and my camp for me to do well because I am in a contract year" the. He kinda backed off and they kept trying to bait him saying "so you are gonna try harder this year than a normal year bc of contract?"

He dance around question.

We may get one decent year finally this year then I say let his arse go somewheres else next season.

One of the things we saw last year was a shift to a more zone running scheme, and it really started coming together after Armstead took over. His athleticism and strength makes him a pretty fierce run blocker in the zone scheme. This is great because we don't have to be so right side oriented like we were with Brown at LT. He never was a very good run blocker.

This also played into Ingram's strengths because of his quick acceleration, balance and cutting ability. It fits him better than a power running oriented scheme.

I think he'll have a fine year, but I doubt we retain him unless he just really wants to stay.

we've seen the same pattern repeat itself with Ingram every year. He will run like dogshit the first half of the season until it gets to the point that we're screaming from the rooftops for Payton to bench him...which he does...then Ingram will come back for the last 4-5 games and run decently (4.5+ ypc consistently).

If he could run all year like he does at the end, he'd be fantastic for us. I suspect, however, that it has less to do with him and more to do with worn out linebackers/linemen.

I'm just hoping he doesn't injure anyone on our team this year. That would be a good start.

probably what he usually does.

start out slow.

then all of sudden, not look so bad by mid-to-late season.

I just hope that the run game kind of picks up where it left off from the playoffs.

I don't know if the line just stepped up their game in the playoffs or what... but when Ingram got rolling it was surprising.

especially against the Eagles. The Eagles knew that when he was in the game, we wanted to run and he still had a nice night. That was pretty encouraging.

Starts, has a solid season, his YPC is good, but his carry numbers won't be too high so he probably doesn't crack 1000. He and Robinson could make quite the 1-2 punch.
