Can we take some time to congratulate Jarret Lee?

I've never seen or heard him speak anything negative about LSU. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure he still wears his purple and gold loud and proud. Many of you may not, but I really appreciate any athletes dedication to LSU on and off the field. Jefferson included. But for this, we thank you.

We did that years ago.

You should not be congratulated for doing what you should do.
Unless you want to congratulate me for not getting shite on my hands this morning when I wiped my arse or for not shaving my lip off when I shaved.

Congratulate him for not bashing the institution that provided him with a free education, books, board and access to unbelievable nutrition all while getting to have fun playing football in college and getting a chance to be at an SEC championship and a National Championship? Oh yeah and he got a chance to play in the NFL after he was done here.
I would think not talking shite would be the expectation here.
I am happy for what the athletes do to give their time and dedication to our university and I wish them nothing but the best of luck when they leave. But saying we need to congratulate him for not talking shite pretty silly.

JL never gets enough credit for his play prior to UA. Without him, we're not SEC Champions.

He threw the hell out of the deep ball that year, minus the two UA games.

Should we start a thread congratulating the hundreds of tiger athletes that has never bad mouthed the coach or program?
Where is TigerLee?

I've always had a great deal of respect for Lee.
After being thrown into the fire in 2008, with an OC that continually called plays that he was simply incapable of executing leading to the 16 INTS and 6 pick sixes, he endured some of the most horrible criticism I have ever seen from a fanbase that is all too willing to turn on their own.
But rather than transfer, which most thought he would, and no one would have blamed him, he stayed, and contributed to the best season in LSU history.
Even when he lost his starting job after running into Alabama (justifiably since we were heading toward a Rematch), the team that always seemed to haunt him, and almost cost the team the GOTC, he never allowed himself to become the martyr that so many wanted to make him (most of whom were the same classless trash that tortured him in 2008) by refusing to play the victim and trashing the coach that shielded him from facing that team again on a night that they were feasting on our OL like sharks in a frenzy.
And as for Jefferson, the fact that he didn't try to get his exceptionally talented younger brother to go to another school after the horrible character assassinations he has endured speaks volumes to his love of the school and team that he played so hard for in his four year career.
Cheers to both of those young men and the 41wins and SEC Championship they gave us in their four years together as Tigers.

If getting treated like shite by your fans and getting fricked over by your coach is fun then he had a blast.

Ehh hold the brakes. Not even the worst in the TD era. That would go to JJ and Les Miles.
And you already see it in this thread, bashing of Les Miles.

And yeah, I talked about JJ later in my post. The criticism of both of those young men was and continues to be absurd and embarrassing to our fanbase.
And as for the Miles criticism, here's my thoughts on that:

Cliffs Notes:

So for all of those reasons, frick you Will Blackwell. I wish Miles had never saved and made your brief career by bringing you over to the OL.
Maybe then someone else, someone capable, would have given the plan a chance to succeed on 1/9, because it is clear from the film that you did not.

I'll remember him for being a great TEAM player- and for the amazing comeback he made for himself in the 2010 & 2011 seasons.
His career at LSU was not easy- but he NEVER caved in. If you have trouble saying that is admirable, you might want to reconsider...
