FBD Drakes Aroma Coma. Holy wow! This is pretty much my perfect beer. Huge aroma, big hop flavor, low bitterness, easy drinker.
Yeah. Such a great beer and at 6.75% its easy to kick back a few of them. I had one just before a Ruinten this weekend and you could really taste the difference in these 2 beers.

It ranks up there with Johnny's pizza and Darrell's special as some of the most overrated stuff on this board.

This beer blows RuinTen away. Hell, it blows most IPAs away.

Agree, one of the best new IPAs I have tried lately.

I agree. It's freakin' Whole Foods, after all. Somewhere in between a convenience store and a real bottle shop...
I think it was Rouge who asked me what the selection was like there.

I just wish they made it year round. I've also been drinking a lot of there 1500 pale ale. Its becoming more common to see it on tap in bars, which is awesome.

Looks like the Lagunitas bombers are on the middle shelf there? Fitting.

FBD: Tennessee Brew Works - Southern Wit
A very refreshing and flavorful summer witbier. I would love to have this beer available for the first half of LSU tailgating season.

The lovely Missus Me suggested we go to the Oregon Brewers Festival this weekend. I thought about it for a while and decided, "Why not?".
It's all summer beers. IPAs, Pale Ales, Session Ales, Saisons, Berliner Weisse's, etc...
Drake's is going to be there, but not with Aroma Coma, but with a beer called 7x70 IPA. Anybody know about this one? Tokens are $1 and gets you a 4 oz pour of anything. A pint will be 4 bucks. Sounds like it will be a pretty good time, right on the water front. 88 brewers.

I'm about to order 2 bottles
While you're at it, order some Fresh Squeezed. If you're looking for a refreshing IPA for the heat of the sunmmer, that's a good one that won't bust the budget...

I think this is the right approach when digging into craft beer. I would create the mix and match sixer like this:
That is a great advice Jax.
FBD is a THA--last one from my AL trip a few weeks back.

Was my introduction to craft beer 10 years or so ago. Happened to be in Portland while it was going on. Its so inexpensive we figured why not?

SBD - Hop Rising
Dear Leader,
As you requested. Threw this together at work and didnt proofread. Hope it makes sense.
2 Grapefruits
3 limes
Tomato, purple onion, garlic cloves, cilantro, pablano or jalepeno pepper, avacado
Use the juice and zest from the grapefruit and lime to marinate the tuna. I use about 1-2lbs of tuna diced up or sliced thin. Try to get all the fish covered, but you will probably have to stir it a couple times. Let it marinate for at least 3 hours.
Chop up the veggies and herbs to whatever consistency you like. Mix them together and add a little salt, pepper and cumin for taste. Have used jerk seasoning before, it covers the fresh flavor a little though. Some people will hold out the avacado until the end, but I like to stir it around a lot so it breaks down a little and spreads the buttery flavor. If it seems dry add some EVOO to help.
Drain off the excess liquid from the tuna (if there is any) and mix in with the veggie/herbs. Usually let that sit together for at least an hour, but you can eat it any time.

7x70 IPA
Drake’s IPA. Denogginizer. Hopocalypse. Aroma Coma. Aroma Prieta. It ain’t exactly a secret that we’re kind of known for our hoppy beers. Back in September, we started experimenting with some new IPAs- all a bit leaner, hoppier and more in line with a modern, pale, unapologetically hoppy West Coast Style IPA than our classic, balanced, original IPA. The more clever of you may have made some guesses as to where we were going with that project, but if you hadn’t, we’re happy to tell you that as of April Drake’s is releasing a new, year-round IPA called 7×70 IPA (“Seven by Seventy” IPA) starting on draft only and eventually heading to store shelves near you later this year.
7×70 IPA clocks in at 7% ABV and 70 IBUs (hence the name) and starts with a citric burst from the Amarillo, El Dorado, and Citra hops in the boil. A lean malt bill that lets the hops really shine through with only 2-row and a touch of lightly toasted pale malt. The dry hop features a second boost of tropical citrus from Calypso hops, as well as a slap of pine from the Simcoes.

I'd had it a couple of times last year, but I did not think it was as good as the one we had yesterday. I agree, that was as good as an IPA gets. I wonder if they changed the recipe?
