Dunno, but recommended.

Also what you keep discounting is that Superman is not out to kill. EVER. That would be his flaw in a true battle with Hulk.
He might have Batman's dossier. And don't give me no bull crap about Hulk being a Marvel character and he wouldn't be in Batman's dossier. Batman has a dossier on everyone, including characters from other comic universes.

If Superman can come back from real death and not saved by a time or dimensional shift, then the hulk can regrow a head.
Well, I can't argue with that logic. Really any writer can write a story having either one win. Debating comic character is pretty futile because of this reason.
But I think everyone can agree that Blue Beetle (Jamie Reyes) could beat both of them.

Swamp Thing owns them all. He would just grow the bacteria in their bodies until they exploded from within.

Kinda off subject but does anyone know if they are planning another stand alone movie for the Hulk?

Yeah, but it will be during Phase 3 (after Avengers 2).

No shite its resistant to the staff. It's a miniature fusion reactor. Touching that w/the tip of the staff would be a juuuust a bit different than simply tapping a chest covered with nothing but a shirt.
Gee, thanks
My point:
Loki's rod in same room as Tony= fricks him up
Loki's rod touching Tony's chest= nada

Again, you have to consider that there is a difference between a forced change and a change that Banner does on purpose.
Or.... You have to consider what is convenient:
Early in movie.... Hulksmash good guys
Late in movie..... Hulksmash bad guys
And again, the rest of the avengers don't know about the good hulk/bad hulk rules
They wouldn't want that dude anywhere near the fight, and Loki's irresistible rod.

I've read rumors that William Hurt wants to play Thaddeus Ross again, but only if he becomes the Red Hulk.
Those same rumors talk about Betty Ross being recast. They could theoretically go the Ultimate Marvel route and have her become She-Hulk.

Please no. I can do without She-Hulk.

First, Tony was working in the room with the rod for hours.
Second, the "influence" of the rod, denoted by the perspective shift in the shot, and the active use of the Rod by Loki to literally take control of someone are two completely different things. Again, camerawork and effects tell you this.

First, they make the case that Banner is the ONLY one with the knowledge to track the tesseract, so the risk is worth it and they mention this. Second, they don't know the rules of the rod. Banner explicitly states at one point in the film that he's in control. That he's at peace, he says, "I wouldn't be here unless I was." Everyone is very clear about the danger he can pose, and Banner would not have said yes if he wasn't in control.
Until the rod affects him.

Give up. Clearly Daniel San used the Rod on Miyagi.

I know right? I mean I'm not crazy, I don't want to be in this bickering thing, but sometimes lack of reasoning just bothers me.
I mean if anything we should be arguing about either them bringing a random alien artifact into their presence or that the rod CONVENIENTLY shoots lasers as well as controls minds. At least there's like sort of an argument there.

I liked how Tony Stark knew they needed Banner to win the war. He kept asking for him. IMO, when he changed into the Hulk on the aircraft, it was forced. He changed into the Hulk in downtown NY by choice. That's why he had more control.
Posted on 7/16/14 at 10:06 pm to Freauxzen
I never read the comics but on my first viewing I understood the rod was manipulating them on the ship and that Banner had no control over the change into the Hulk on the ship. While he did in NY. It worked for me.
Now if you want to talk about convenient then look no further than the nuke blowing up the chitari mothership and all the chitari just drop dead. THAT'S convenient. All the rest is splitting hairs in a summer blockbuster.

Yeah I disliked that as well. Cheap ending.

This is simple because we all agree that Marvel > DC.

agree w/that too.
shite, even Whedon admitted it was bad.
i wouldn't be surprised if there was perhaps something else originally story boarded but Disney was like, "Man, frick spending another $15 million and making it 10 minutes longer. Get the bitch into theaters now! We have toys to sell!"

In a reality with super powers there is nothing to stop Hulk from mutating a power that enables him to free himself from the Sun. If the Sun gives Superman his power then it is certainly plausible in the Super Hero Universe that Hulk could mutate some power that enables him to be free
I dunno. I guess. This sounds hokey even for a comic. He'd have to mutate the ability to fly or teleport or something like that which he's never done.
quote:
You guys keep bringing up the sun like it is a foregone conclusion that Superman has the strength to hold Hulk. That is not a given.
Superman just needs to hold hulk long enough to get to space. Once in space hulk would be in trouble. As far as the sun goes, superman just has to give him a good shove towards it, not carry him there. Hulk would just flail about in anger.
quote:
Neither of us can be proven right or wrong so there are plausible arguments for either to win. Saying otherwise and you are simply being a fanboy incapable of real debate.,
Brilliant

Of course either character could win. There are contradictory results all over the comic books - mostly IMO as a result of certain writers liking some characters a lot more than others, but also because when two people fight you can get different results from fight to fight. These threads also make me wish for the ability to selectively remove certain posters from a thread because they are so upset about other people liking a different comic book universe or movie that they feel the need to enter those threads and stir shite up.
Anyway, Superman taking the Hulk to the Sun would be a winning move if it didn't take a ridiculously long time to get there (think about how long light takes to get to the Earth and how difficult it would be to repeatedly punt a Hulk there). I'm not sure that would destroy the Hulk but I think the DC comic book literature indicates that the Sun's relationship to Superman's power would make him both unharmed by being there and almost unlimited in his power when he's close).
FWIW, I find it really annoying that more people (comic book writers as well as fans) don't automatically understand the Sun's environment to be a more punishing location than the center of a nuclear blast. Do people really not understand the scale and power of a star compared to a relatively confined explosion? Do people still think the sun is a giant burning piece of charcoal or fiery horse that rides across the sky?
