Les Miles, how great is he... The Best LSU has ever had

Some considered him the best LSU Head Coach Ever.... Personally I agree after being here 9 years (going into his 10th season)
Les is 95-24 overall, 52-20 in SEC
He has 1 National Championship, Played for another, on 2 conference championship, and has kept LSU as a Top 5 program overall...
I know this will turn into a Les vs Nick debate, but we should appreciate what Les has done. The road hasn't always been smooth but it has been full of wins. we can critique the clapping, the hat, and the decisions, but the results have been what we want. People may hate the way Les gets the results, as it may be ugly but the results are there.....
Saban is a better coach now than when he was coaching at LSU. He is considered the best in the business, but if we are just talking LSU tenure give me Les, Saban, Dietzel

He is the best Head Coach that LSU has ever had (yes, better than Saban was during his tenure at LSU).

Mack Brown was the best LSU ever had when he was offensive coordinator

Anyone who doesn't think Les is the best we ever had is an idiot.

Agreed. Les is clearly better at LSU than Nick was while at LSU.
Now? Nick is better...but the gap is not NEARLY as wide as some would have you think.

Les, as stated, is the best.
He would have to do a colossal screw job for a few years to lose that title.
The decline is not real

Since "best" is a comparative term, bringing up Miles' predescessors is appropriate. And in this case, it's only a matter of time before someone says "but Saban". I think it important to distinguish between Saban being the best "career" coach to ever coach at LSU and Saban being the best LSU coach (if you get my drift).

But how good does Miles do if Saban had not built the program to where it was when Les got here.

I hate the offseason. And I'm actually more critical of Miles than many on here.

Looks like td stirred up the Sabanistas. Here they come breathing fire, grimmacing and pounding the keys.
Which of course is the purpose of the thread.

Really simple. If Miles replaces Dinardo, does he still compile that record he currently has?

Sorry But this has to be looked at. I love the job Les has done. But I don't think he comes here in 2000 and gets the program where Saban does.
