Brees only threw a pass toward Graham 40 times in the 2013 season against a cornerback. Graham caught 22 of those passes (55 percent success rate).

Graham finished with 90 catches for 1,267 yards and 16 touchdowns last season, including the postseason. Only 20 of his receptions were made against a cornerback, for 258 yards and four touchdowns. Graham caught a pass only 12 percent of the time a cornerback covered him.

dont get me wrong, i absolutely love the signing. but he is stoppable. hopefully he learns and continues to improve even more.

Oh, well, we can lose those games, no problem.
Nah. Just more time to game plan for that now. I don't see 1 guy stopping Jimmy anymore. They'll have a way to counter that. Running the ball helps a lot. Put Jimmy on the line and see if a CB goes down into the box. He won't. They'll get him if he is out wide. They will create the mismatches.

But we signed him, so he's good against corners now.
Being serious, off course his numbers are going to go down being covered by corners because they're usually the best in coverage on defense. He's still not bad against corners.
And IF teams try to put their best corners on him the whole time, I feel that we have the o-line AND the other receiving threats to make them pay.

this is probably the best argument, mostly because of Stills being in his second year and the addition of Cooks. The o-line could still be an issue if center doesnt get solidified in training camp.
its not that his numbers "dipped" when on a cover. they were significantly worse. hes amazing at mismatches. i just hope he realizes he still has a lot of areas for improvement.

I hope he realizes how big he is and that he shouldn't let smaller corners/safetys push him around. He seems to like using his speed and height to his advantage but not his body, which is crazy.

If other teams put their best corner on Jimmy, Colston, Cooks, or Stills will be running free against a lesser defender. I have hope of this offense rivaling the 2011 offense.

It can't be worse than last year right? DLP was pretty horrid, Brown couldn't block a player crawling, Evans is healthier compared to last year, and Armstead looked like the real deal in the last few games.
I think the OL will be fine, here's to hoping thats true and every WR we have makes a big stride (even old reliable - Colston)

So they could conceivably have his bases salary this year at ~2 million, which would mean that our cap space situation would not be affected at all.
Saw a report that this year's cap number is 4 mil.
Jumps to 8 or so next year.

I don't know why I never think of Stills when looking at this offense. Year 2 with Drew and this offense should be something special to watch.

Colston is said to be as healthy as ever too. Morgan showed some skills and Toon too.
Cooks is the wildcard.
They are young and talented at WR. They just need someone to step up.
I think the OLine will be better. Year 2 with the new OLine coach and a new starting center.
Does anyone find it weird that we are talking about what worries us about the Offense and not all that worried about Defense?

It's amazing that only 2 years ago we were the worst ever. Now, this season, we will be possibly top 3.
I can't help but be excited for such a stacked team. If Cooks starts off like we think he can, this team will be unbelievable.

Turnovers. It's what I want to see more than anything else this year. Take some pressure off the offense.

Yeah and that's why Byrd is such a huge fit for us. It's something we desperately need and that's one of his huge specialties.

I honestly couldn't care less if we rank top 5 defensively.
If we could be top 10-15 in yards/points AND top 10-15 in turnovers (compared to being what...bottom 5(?) last year) that would be more beneficial to the team than what happened last year.

Not sure why you are throwing Sean Payton into the retirement talk.
Remember when they were doing this two years ago? Saying Payton would only be around only a couple more years.. Never really made sense.
