Beetle Bailey needs to go slap the crap out of this guy Archie
He meant to, but then split a sandwich with Dagwood and then passed out behind a building hiding from Sarge and Blondie.

Coming next month to “Archie”: Betty’s forced to scrape together eight bucks for birth control when her boss cuts off coverage after the Hobby Lobby ruling.

Archie Andrews, a staple of American comics since 1941, will die in Wednesday's issue of Life with Archie. And he'll say goodbye to the series with one last act of heroism: Archie will take a bullet meant for best friend Kevin Keller, the first openly gay character in his comic universe. In doing so, he'll foil an assassination attempt against Keller and, according to the story's creators, give rise to greater understanding and tolerance in his fictional town of Riverdale. The final issue arrives as many Americans continue to work tirelessly on behalf of gay rights and to extend marriage equality across the US.
"He dies selflessly," said Jon Goldwater, Archie Comics publisher and co-CEO, speaking to the Associated Press. "He dies in the manner that epitomizes not only the best of Riverdale but the best of all of us." Archie Comics first revealed that Andrews' death would mark the conclusion of Life with Archie back in April. The comic is a flash-forward series that catches up with Archie and his friends long after their high school and college days.
couldn't we demonstrate the bet in people without ANYONE getting shot at to start with? But that wouldn't fit anyones political agenda

I wish, frankly, they would have gone way over the top and added a few more — the shooter, enraged by Israel’s actions in Gaza, is apprehended by Riverdale’s newest resident, a handsome illegal immigrant from Guatemala named Jose. Why be impactful when you can be the impactfullest?

The gay agenda has exploded out of hand lately. It was the same thing in a kids movie that I saw recently with my daughter - How to Train Your Dragon pt 2. A gay character comes out on screen during the movie.
Holy shite!!
Is everyone OK?
You're lucky to have made it out of that movie alive (and straight)!

Yea I'm fine. I just don't happen to think that has any place in a children's movie, nothing more.

I don't think they are.
Hence, trying to create some semblance of a buzz by killing off a main character while saving a gay character.
Look for Archie comics sales to skyrocket!

I promise no child picked up on the very subtle, very brief "coming out" moment
hell most adults missed it

Why was or is it needed? When 90% of parents would rather not see it in a childrens movie, why would it be put in the movie to start with?

Plot twist, shooter fired more than one bullet, killing them both.

That number seems a bit high.

it wasn't needed, and it was ad libbed by Craig Ferguson
the director kept it because he wanted to frick with people

So you think upwards of 10% of people with children look at little Jill or Johnny and are hoping for a gay lifestyle choice? I would bet if you polled 100 parents leaving an animated childrens movie you would get at least 90 that would rather not have gay references.

"and 1 other reason" is a gay reference now?

I guess he better get it out there for the two weeks he is relevent

Unless you are using 'coming out' differently than I thought, it appears to be a gay reference. My bad if it isn't.
