If you take the entire list of players with max deals in the NBA, you will realize Bosh getting a max deal is just right
Other players getting bad contracts doesn't justify Chris Bosh getting more money than he deserves.

Bosh in his prime wasn't better than any of those you listed in their prime, save maybe JJ. And that's even a debate.

He fits the Rockets, he's been to championships, and the Rockets are ready to go for the whole shabang. The timing and his talent fit the contract. There are some very bad contracts out there, many of which are non-max players, I would rather spend the money on proven guy. Rockets know exactly what they can expect from Bosh.

I mean if you have the money for it, and Bosh won't take anything else, and you need him, then who am I to judge?

Bosh will flourish with Dwight Howard. He doesn't have to play Center and can play a style more suited to his game. I think he'll be very good in Houston.

You're not beating San Antonio in a 7 game series without a bench. It doesn't matter how good your starting 5 is. Have fun getting a decent bench while being in cap hell.

We added our former starter to the bench, and we beat San Antonio every game this past season. We match up much better with San Antonio than Miami or Portland did. Dwight Howard vs. Splitter, Bosh vs. Duncan. I still like the Rockets against San Antonio. Still to be determined what would happen in a 7 game series, all speculation at this point.

You started this thread way too early. Bosh has a max offer from Miami.
I won't be surprised if he takes it. He'd be the man there.

That's an act of desperation IMO. That franchise has no direction right now. More power to him if he takes it though.

Parsons contract is horrible
While it's not ideal, it's set up so that him and Dwight become FAs at the same time

Rockets benefit most from LeBron to Cavs

I'm confused as to how Houston can afford both Parsons and Bosh.
Dwight at 21.4
Harded at 14.7
Parsons at 15
Bosh at say 18?
That's $69M right there.

Bird rights. They can over the cap if they sign Bosh first.

We could do a pretty good job, but it would draw the trolls here like moths to a flame.

Do the Rockets still benefit most?

Posted my thoughts in the NHL thread this morning (which is probably buried on pg. 20 right now after today ). I was pleased with it. Slight overpayment I think, but he means more to us than he would to most of the other NHL teams (both on the ice and in the locker room). Nice that he's in the fold for the foreseeable future.

Will be better.
Cavs will be really good.
Heat have like 60 million to attract good players from the West.
Celtics are improving.
Pacers will be good.
Gotta think Knicks will be better if Melo stays.
Hawks retain a decent team.
Bobcats improve.
Etc.
East isn't great, but definitely better than last year
Bucks could make some noise down the road too and possibly the magic
Raptors are pretty decent
Wizards are solid
Brooklyn?? Who knows
Detroit is interesting
East is better than given credit
It's also that the west is amazing
