So...that game was a bit of a $#itshow.
Cou trying way to hard and handing the other team counterattacks.
Way too much space quite a few times - the inability to defend in those situations will haunt us all year.
On the plus side - we really look like we're getting close to clicking. A lot of passes a half step behind or just a bit too far. A few miscommunications - things that will get better as these guys play together over time.
Brian McBride rode Swag pretty hard post-game. He's right - SWag will not give us the movement that we had with Suarez/Sterling/Sturridge last year. But he does do a great job holding the ball and laying off a lot of good balls to others from that. I'm sure BR will try to get his movement up to par, but also keep some of the other things he brings.
3 points, thats the important part.

FYI for those who get BeIN sports, the Liverpool-Middlesbrough fixture is on tv Tuesday 3pm central.

Flanno out for months after operation on his knee. So much for having any semblance of depth.

Arsenal 3-0 at half makes me wonder a little bit.... has to be a little concerning, the fact that Villa completely took us out our game, at home, while Arsenal is skullfricking them, on the road....
it's not time to jump off the ledge, but the slow start and injuries have to have Liverpool fans a little antsy to say the least....

If we struggle again today, it's going to be very disconcerting and time to re-evaluate.

Yeah. The marking was awful though. But I agree.

What the frick is our set piece defense strategy?
Posted on 9/20/14 at 11:35 am to SwampRocket
It's like we don't even practice defending set pieces. Ever.
