I'm glad Bellerin is getting experience.
Me too. He has looked good and been thrown into the fire in some big matches and hasn't looked overwhelmed.

Demorai Gray would be a nice player for Arsenal.

Can't complain about our CL Round of 16 draw.
Pretty good news to wake up to this morning.

AS Monaco?
Yow.
I'll take that draw all day long.

Finally!
A team not named Barcelona or Bayern Munich (or Real Madrid or PSG or...) is a nice suprise.

Listening to Arsecast this morning, and they recorded it live with the draw. Pretty funny to listen to.
Good draw. If not for the Stoke meltdown we'd be in really high spirits right now. We've really found something with the Welbeck-Giroud-Sanchez attacking trio. Flamini has played smarter of late. Santi's on superb form. Bellerin is showing excellent potential. Debuchy is healthy.
We're still out Theo, Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere, and Koscielny (probably five first choice players) yet still playing well (winning five of six). And we're starting to click in the attack.
Best of all, the rest of our perennial top 4 competitors want nothing to do with the top four right now, either. We're behind West Ham (who we've got coming up) and Southampton (who we've beaten and who we play after Southampton). On Jan. 2, if we maintain form, we could be in great shape for a second half run.
Then again, we could go out and shite the bed against Pool because it's just been that kind of year. I actually don't see that happening though.

We draw Monaco in the Round of 16. If we can somehow get through that tie and then draw the winner of the Basel/Porto pairing, then we'd really be in business.
Champions League semifinals here we come!

SBI has a mention about ox having groin inflammation. Not good. We need our CMs.

Jeremy Wilson also wrote about this in the Telegraph this morning, but also says he should still be OK to play at Liverpool on Sunday.
Wenger giving the team 3 full days off after Newcastle win to spend some Christmas time with their families, so no training until Wednesday. Also benefits with having an extra day playing at Anfield on Sunday.
Ox was awesome in central midfield in that Newcastle game. We need him in that same form in the middle with what looks now to be a firing front 4 of Cazorla behind Welbeck, Giroud and Alexis to scare the sh*t out of the Scousers!
----------
Wanted to come back with an edit that I'm seeing tweets now going around that the Guardian is reporting that both The Ox and Walcott should be in the squad to face Liverpool on Sunday. Ox in the starting 11 and Theo on the bench. Chambers is of course back from his suspension.
I believe the only change that should be made to the 11 that faced Newcastle is Chambers slotting back in at center back with Debuchy sliding back over to his right back position. I hope the rest of the team is exactly the same!

Okay, I'm not a regular here and this is a little off-topic in that it doesn't directly pertain to Arsenal, but Glassman can vouch for me! I help run the Krewe of Arsenal, New Orleans' Arsenal Supporters Club. Pardon my sales pitch tone that follows.
We are taking pre-registration this week for Gooner Gras in New Orleans, January 30-Feb 1. That's at home to Villa. This will be the second annual Gooner Gras, and we are expecting nearly 100 Arsenal supporters from around the country to attend.
Friday Jan 30 there will be a welcome mixer at NOLA Brewing Taphouse on Tchoupitoulous from 7-10pm with bottomless draft beer from their entire range of craft beers (not just one or two). Jambalaya will be provided to all attendees from the people responsible for the delicious and authentic Crescent Pie and Sausage.
Saturday morning there will be EPL fun at Finn McCool's or a game of pickup soccer for the less hungover, before heading to Parkway Tavern for some poboys. Saturday night is the Krewe du Vieux parade in the French Quarter, and we might see the very first Mardi Gras attended en masse by an EPL supporters group.
The match was moved to Sunday morning, which we will watch at Finn's (of course).
So here's the deal: we want you to come to as much or as little of it as you can. The Friday event is the only part that requires payment, and it costs $35 for all you can drink and eat for 3 hours of really good food and beer. It's a closed event so you must register for a wristband (and must be 21+).
Arsenal America is helping us to sponsor the event, they're the ones that helped bring Arsenal over to play NYRB this summer and organized all the related events. If you are already a member of Arsenal America (or want to join now for $25), you get a free Gooner Gras shirt if you preregister this week (just send PayPal payment to nolagooners@gmail.com or by clicking here)
If you're not an Arsenal America member, we will take $35 regular registration fees up until about a week before the event (there will likely be no door sales). You can always purchase a shirt if you want one for $20 at the events.
With all that said, we hope you can make it for as much of the weekend as you can, share a pint with fellow Gooners from around the country, and just enjoy the city and the match with us. Let us know if you need help finding a hotel, we might be able to help with that.

Since nobody else will, I figured I would just go ahead and pay tribute to the man who made me an Arsenal fan ... King Henry! I'm sure many of you Gooners from here in the U.S. probably became fans of the club in much the same way as I did by watching this man who just today called it quits on a brilliant professional career.
I only followed Arsenal toward the end of Thierry Henry's time at the club, so I will never know what it was like to be a supporter of that period from 1998-2004 with the double-winning seasons and Invincibles and all of that, but I hope that level of success will return to the club one day soon.
I've gone on to grow a deep love of Arsenal FC over these last 7-8 years or so, and I have The King to thank for that. The spring of 2006 was the first time I ever paid any attention to the Champions League, and there was just something about watching Arsenal that drew me in. I was absolutely gutted when they lost to Barcelona in the UCL final that year, but didn't understand why it affected me so much at the time. Henry's class was so evident in leading the team even at that time when he only had maybe a year or two left at the club.
Congrats again on a great career Thierry Henry, my favorite ever Arsenal player!

I started following them even later than you (around 2008), so this is my favorite (and really only ) Henry moment.
