Do you realize how small of a fraction of a percent of the federal budget goes to helping needy with food stamps?

The amount spent helping the needy is a lot less than is spent helping the lazy. I guess since the overall cost of food stamps is small relative to the overall revenue generated by our tax dollars, we shouldn't be upset by people buying luxury items with our money.

A much smaller portion than those who should get them. I never had an issue paying my taxes until I saw how badly people abuse what I give them. Now I loathe it, for that simple reason. If it was a flat tax rate and I knew everyone paid their 15-20% regardless of their income, I'd be a much happier human. Then they could cheat all they wanted because they'd be defrauding themselves and not just (us).

Seriously. I never get the vitriol over the Food Stamp program. I know single mothers that work 40 hours a week and need food stamps to get by. It is a good program, mostly.
