Congress has every email she sent or received during this time period. Shouldn't there be something there if this new e-mail is this important?
Do they? I don't think they have every one. Whoever testified a few weeks ago claimed they had a few years of her emails and in the 6m she was there, they never even go around to beginning to filter them.
But then you are assuming that she was on those emails. One would think if they intentionally crashed their computers to scrub everything, she would avoid anything in the future
I don't think this is the smoking gun, but frick, there are way too many coincidences not to believe something was going on.

the question and warning of e-mails is fairly common in public service.
let me just interject that this is bullshite
they are public servants and every effort should be made to meticulously detail every professional thing they say/do
that's the only way that we can have true accountability in a scenario like this
it shouldn't take a congressional investigation to get these emails, see all the communications, and, if there is an issue with "losing" those, to find out which employee is responsible for that
this isn't a left/right or DEM/GOP thing. it's a government v. people thing. you're the fricking government. you are beholden to us. it should be criminal to hide your actions using public resources/power

Nailed it.

Jesus christ, do you realize you are comparing apples to oranges? A general email policy regarding workplace communications is COMPLETELY different then the head of an organization warning people and trying to avert congressional subpoenas.

But NOT to skirt Congressional oversight. As Lerner said when she asked if Office Communicator is tracked, answer was Not unless you save the messgaes, she said "perfect".
She was ensuring their actions would not and could not see the light of day from oversight.

I don't think I've ever worked somewhere that I wasn't warned about watching what you say in emails.
These guys are so desperate for ANYTHING to catch something anything that they'll make something out of nothing.
Every
Day
Then they get upset because no normal people see the cray cray they see.

You ever work in the government?
OVERSIGHT, you are trying to compare some fricking idiot that works for Kinkos adn emails sexy emails inter office, to attempting to skirt legal oversight.

Quit being a fricking hack
Nobody is saying that people aren't told about workplace email policies and rules. That happens EVERYWHERE.
I'd LOVE to see a workplace email from your supervisor that says "Hey guys, be careful what you put in email about this project. We wan't to make sure that law enforcement isn't able to find anything thats illegal"

I think your sense of ethical obligations is admirable. However I do wonder where this was when the subject of Romney's computers came up two years ago. Ya know his entire staff destroyed their computers on his last day in office to ensure no one could see what they were up to while in office.
Tell me SFP..... If I go back two years in those threads on this board, am I going to see your posts with the same sentiment?
TIA

(Reuters) - Mitt Romney spent nearly $100,000 in state funds to replace computers in his office at the end of his term as governor of Massachusetts in 2007 as part of an unprecedented effort to keep his records secret, Reuters has learned.

Why are you and the other one intentionally ignoring the part about specifically addressing the need to avoid issues around e-mails being subpoenaed by Congress? You are lying if you say that is common in any sector. And I've seen hundreds of companies' acceptable use policies and electronic communications policies.

I don't think
I have worked at companies both large and small and not once did the companies warns us about watching what we said in emails. That includes a couple of Fortune 500 companies.
