Well, at least they didn't specify the forearm.

Would suck if injured, he has been one of best pitchers in baseball this year

Masahiro Tanaka has been diagnosed with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament.
Oh boy. The Yankees are saying that the tear is small and Tanaka could return after six weeks following a platelet-rich plasma injection. The club noted that the right-hander has seen three doctors and none of them have recommended surgery at this point. However, general manager Brian Cashman also isn't ruling out an operation eventually being required. Tanaka is in the first year of a seven-year, $155 million contract.

It never seems like those plasma things work.

Depends on how big the tear is, but my guess is we won't see him until the second half of next year.
Not a good year to be a pitcher. It is a good year to be Dr. James Andrews.

I don't know, but I don't want to see a good young talent like him have to go under the knife in his first year.
Yeah, his first year in the bigs. It happens to nearly every single pitcher who has any serious aspersions of being a pro. It sucks, but gotta deal with it.

Dr Andrews is making bank this year

I really feel for the guy. I know he's a Yankee and all, but you don't wish this sort of injury on anyone.

He may as well just go ahead and have the surgery.
