That's amazing. Wow.

On this day in 1940, the Chicago Bears trounce the Washington Redskins in the National Football League (NFL) Championship by a score of 73-0, the largest margin of defeat in NFL history. The Bears, coached by George Halas, brought a 6-2 record to their regular-season meeting with the Redskins in Washington on November 17, 1940. After Chicago lost 3-7, the Redskins coach, George Preston Marshall, told reporters that Halas and his team were "quitters" and "cry babies." Halas used Marshall’s words to galvanize his players, and the Bears scored 78 points in their next two games to set up a showdown with the Redskins in the league’s championship game on December 8, also in Washington.
Less than a minute into the game, the Bears’ running back Bill Osmanski ran 68 yards to score the first touchdown. After the Redskins narrowly missed an opportunity to tie the game, the Bears clamped down and began to dominate, leaving the field at halftime with a 28-0 lead. Things only got worse for the Redskins, and by the end of the second half officials were asking Halas not to let his team kick for extra points, as they were running out of footballs after too many had been kicked into the stands.
Don't ever call Papa Bear or his players quitters and crybabies

Goals 3 and 5 are from the Mankind/Taker HiaC match.

To put this in context, Spain scored 8 goals in total at the 2010 world cup.

I saw a high school girls team get beat 90-0.
But the spread was 92, so there was a silver lining.

Plugged into a national team hosting + fanatical world pride + viewership + absurd score formula, it's hard to beat.
The announcers called it like they were seeing a comet.

usc/arkansas 2005.
The #1 Trojans had a first quarter to remember, having possession of the ball for 1:32, running 8 plays, gaining 246 yards and scoring 28 points. The Trojans would go on to rack up 736 yards in a 70-17 demolition of the Razorbacks.

Unprecedented.
Never happened in sports from what I have witnessed or read.

This kind of sums it up:

everything pales in comparison to what this beatdown is and what it means
Exactly, this would be like the Spurs beating the Heat in Miami by 400+ points. It was utterly embarrassing.

Exactly. Not sure any of the other events mentioned had the PA announcer tell the "visiting" fans to remain in their seats so that they can be escorted out of the stadium.

This deserves more attention. Yeah it was almost 100 years ago, but damn that's a beat down.

No one gives a shite about college football or any of these U.S. made up sports. Thus they are all null and void. Considering it was on a world stage, at home, and it happened to a historic team like Brazil this is by far the biggest arse whooping in team sports. Only thing that could make this worse is if it happened in the finals.

Pretty much.
As thoroughly as SA thrashed the Heat in MIA, something tells me the Spurs fans in attendance didn't have need to fear for their lives when the horn sounded.
Hell, they were #LeBroning outside the AAA after game 3, iirc
Nothing to really compare this to in American sport. Truly an historic annihilation on so many levels. Insanity.

Germany putting 7 goals on Brazil is the worst beat down I've ever seen in sports. 4-1 is a beat down but 7-1 in a WC Semi Final is beyond words.

Germany defeated two Portuguese speaking countries by an aggregate score of 11-1 in this tourney.
