He's got the nicest mixtape, though.

Well of course you think that. He's probably going to Kentucky.
Seems like scouts and analysts prefer Ben Simmons. I'll take their word for it

Lulz, what is this 2013? Simmons has claimed that number one spot since everyone has been able to see him play against the best. The services weren't gonna rank some Aussie #1 unless he moved.

Simmons highlights at the NBPA Camp... against the best of the best Makes it look easy too. Its easy to tell which 1 Maker is.... he still looks like an alien

Agreed.
Since the thread is about a 16 year old please, oh please let the Buckeyes get VJ King.

Knew I'd get some bites out of that
I honestly had no idea who Simmons was until KG mentioned him. I honestly don't pay attention until most of these guys until they start popping up on NBA stuff..

I'm the opposite. I coach a showcase team so all I really care about is recruiting and college basketball.

I love CBB despite it 1000's of flaws, but I usually wait until about the McDonald's AA game to start to care about recruits.
Too many names out there to keep up with.

Simmons is a 6'9 SF that is left handed and silky smooth with a complete game. Can shoot from deep, drive and finish, score in transition, post up, etc. He is CRAZY polished for his age. Gets compared to a healthy and in prime TMAC.
Just watch the highlight i linked in my post above... and then just watch some more. Kid is going to be great. Led his high school team to back to back national titles as a soph and JR.... most likely gonna be a 3peat his SR year.

One does not just start a pissing match against LSU's program changer without catching a little hell

I googled him and pulled up his 24/7 page then thought hmmm... this could be fun.

So you're admitting to not knowing anything about these players beyond their mixtapes and hype.
I bet you think Seventh Woods is the next Vince Carter
Udoka Azubuike is my favorite 2016 big, although he'll probably go to UK or FSU

question: How does someone originally from another country just "reclassify" to a higher grade level? Especially since he's attended probably 5 schools since he's been in the states. What allows one to 'reclassify?' It seems shady.

Can the dude do anything but dunk? Holy shite. He makes Oklahoma Blake Griffin look versatile.
Dude looks like an undersized power forward to me. He will be great in college, but nothing special as an NBA prospect.

Know I'm admitting I only really know about 2 high school players right now because I read about them on Draftexpress.com
Thon Maker because I was reading about Adidas Eurocamp he competed in.
Come back to me in like March or April

When is anything involving premier high school basketball recruits ever not shady.
Jarnell Stokes had to sit out his senior season here in Memphis because of transfer rules. All of sudden he was playing basketball at the University of Tennessee in January.

Woods' mixtape got a lot of exposure last year.

Dude.... watch more of his highlights. That was just from the NBPA camp.
Hes a SF and can dribble like a PG and fill it up from 3.
Just watch this highlight: LINK
His handles for a 6'9 JR is just ridiculous. He already has better handles than Griffin does and its not that close. And his vision, passing ability, and bball IQ is off the charts for a kid this young. Watch him in transition. And his shot is perfect. His jump shot is graded a 9 out of 10 on his nbadraft page. He can shoot the ball. And on his NBAdraft page is also says he has no weakness right now and they had to nitpick for him, which they rarely do.
And most high school highlight reels from big time recruits are typically just dunking due to the huge difference in talent level. Rarely is there anyone of the floor that can stop them from driving and dunking at the high school level.

I wonder how well his body will hold up. 7 feet and nimble at 16? Once he fills out, he may be like the majority of 7+ footers and stay too injured to be a dominant presence in the NBA.
