Wanting a gravel or limestone parking pad in BR, or concrete if the price is right. Anyone have any recommendations on a contractor? Or should I just call concrete guys and they all do limestone too?

Call contractors or call concrete places that sell it and ask if the know anyone that forms/ finishes.
Limestone, that falls under dirt work.

Ok thanks. Yeah I wasn't sure how they did it, if concrete guys just did everything or what.
Ever tried just laying pea gravel down yourself? Just scared it will scatter everywhere, and the pad will be adjacent to our street in the city.

Remember, they have a certain grade for driveways/parking and such. If it's for rental/low commercial I'd go with the lime stone so you don't see all the oil leak stains as much.

In Louisiana, don't let any contractor go without using geotextile fabric. If you/they use fabric and properly compact the lifts of stone, the parking/driveway will last you a lifetime.

Buy load of rocks, grab a rake and get to work.

Dirt work needs to be done before you just put limestone down; otherwise, you'll just be doing it again when the paper and dirt start coming through your parking lot.
Dig down to good ground, back fill with clay, pack, pack, pack it, make sure it drains, cover it with paper, bring in the roadbase (stone with fines), pack, pack, pack (water will help it pack too)

Still need good ground under concrete. Call a contractor and get some bids.

#2 limestone for driveways/ parking areas. I know Bear Ind. can supply the stone and recommend some contractors.
Think someone recommended a guy by the name of Hollingsworth in a previous thread on this topic.

Pea gravel will not compact like limestone. You will get ruts in it and it will sink into the dirt and eventually spread. My uncle spreads it at the camp. We only go on weekends for half of the year and it still needs replacing about once a year.

Thanks guys. I'll start calling some contractors, may just look into getting it poured and be done with it.
