so i have a new phone that bricked after reboot.

here is what i tried and failed at

i've seen the error from all accounts on the internet, but got nowhere in fixing it using the link above.

it simply says an error everything when trying to reach my phone to reload the .cab file.

will the carrier do anything to fix this or am i toast?

Carriers will not fix rooted phones if they know they are rooted.

I rooted my Galaxy S3 when I got it 2 years ago, then tried to install a custom ROM. Nearly bricked my phone, said never again to messing with it like that.

What I did to fix it was download the stock firmware for my phone from my carrier. Since it was a Galaxy S3 from AT&T I was able to locate the stock AT&T firmware online, download it, and install it. Fortunately it worked and my phone was back to operating, but it was a lesson learned.

As long as you can access download mode or recovery mode it isn't bricked.

Which I'd bet you can.

Like others have said, I doubt it is bricked. Pretty hard to brick a phone these days

What happens when you plug it into a computer?

You can't brick an android phone unless the recovery image has been deleted.

Your options:
1.Boot into recovery mode on your phone and flash another ROM

2. Use fastboot to flash stock or another custom ROM

it is detected as a USB device and yes i can still get it to download mode

when i try to load the stock onto it, it fails every time at

i'll take it home and try to get some screenshots.

Mines done this. You're saying there's a process error like every tenth of a second? And it keeps you from doing anything?

Just reinstall the image or try another one. If going back to stock, try it again.
