Yeah my bad. I was overanxious. I am still very happy, not that I expect much from Hoes. 6 LOB with Grossman AB and lose by 1 really hurts.

I called the Hoes recall. I mean, I like playing Cpt. Obvious and all.....
But I'm not a waffler like some others around here begging to call up Tucker and Santana then agreeing with the majority later on saying they should stay in the minors all year long.
Anyone here like waffles? I find them delicious and filling.

Predict Grossman's AAA stats over the next month? .350 BA with 5 HRs? Astros AAAA guys always rake when they get sent back down, Hoes included...

It's time for Singleton to catch some fire. If only Bo actually played him against lefties.

It's too soon to completely give up on Grossman. He does have some valuable skill sets. I know we get sick of the players that are overly aggressive and have no plate discipline. See the swing at everything mentality (Carter, Springer).
Grossman is the opposite of that. He strikes out a lot but his problem is he doesn't swing enough. I looked at some of his advanced batting stats and he's seeing 4.09 pitches per plate appearance this year which would be (he doesn't have enough PA to rank) good for 17th in the AL. For his career, 48% of his total strikeouts have been looking. A guy who might be have a similar skill set would be Shin Soo Choo IMO. A somewhat toolsy OF who strikes out a lot but also walks a good bit. His strikeout looking percent is around 26%.
You don't want to crucify a guy who's selective in his at bats but I think with Grossman, his patience is actually hindering his success at the plate. During his first stint last year, his batting average was .198 but his walk rate over 162 games would have gotten him 93 walks. Conversely, when he got called back up last year, he hit .322 but his walk rate over a full season would result in 36 walks. This year, his walk rate for both of his stints with the major league team would be over 80 walks a season. Sorry for the novel, my point is Grossman showed some promise last year of being a competent player but he just needs to be more aggressive.

Well that ducks really hard. Prayers sent for the kid.

Good analysis. Luhnow went after some once upper level prospects who weren't producing and their teams were ready to give them up as easy pieces in trades. The potential is there, whether he reaches is a different story.
I am not ready to give up on him yet. Last night was tough.

Perfect first for Jabroni. Since Singleton took 28 from LJ, he is now opting for a "0 Hoes" policy.

Astros get leadoff double, Fowler fricks it up getting thrown out at third
Braves get leadoff double, sacrifice him all the way home
