Yea but in the comics Prof. Zoom is from the future, Wells (who I'm guessing is Eobard Thawne) could just be a descendent of Eddie Thawne. Also concerning Eddie Thawne remember this is from the same guys that produce Arrow, they like to throw curve balls, remember in Arrow when everyone thought Tommy would become the Dark Archer?

I can see that. The showrunners definitely like to throw out curve balls like that. Wells is definitely someone who has ties to the future, and I doubt Wells is his real name.

Has anyone downloaded the show? I tried playing it on a few players and it won't open. Thought I'd download in case it gets taken down.

Any thoughts on why it won't play?

Abra Cadabra is also a villain from the future.

i streamed it to watch. i meant i downloaded it and couldnt get the download to open.

so. WOW! im going to geek out so therefore:

SPOILERS

awesome, awesome Easter eggs in just a fricking pilot. bravo.
i didnt really care for iris' dad learning his identity already, but i get that they want to keep it opposite of Arrow in that regard. i think itll follow arrow's season 1 structure though. oliver had the "list" with a story arc in the background. barry will have his "meta criminal" of the week with a story arc in the background. and probably the metas finally forming the rogues.

so the thawne stuff is definitely interesting. would the show really throw the real professor zoom at fans this early and fast as that new detective? i feel like its a misdirect and that wells is the future Thawne that becomes reverse flash.

my other theory is that wells could be Jay Garrick. they mentioned a dimensional rift causing the accelerator explosion and the headline mentioning "crisis" points to multiple dimensions. but thats a far leap (i know).

i feel like this show will be a very good mix of smallville and arrow. cannot wait for arrow/flash crossover episodes

Lots of easter eggs:

-Waynetech/Queen industries merger
-GRODD

Also I wonder how soon they will turn Caitlin Snow into Killer Frost...and if they will use Captain Cold as the one who causes it.

-Eobald Thawne (Reverse Flash) is from the 25th century, so it's possible that Eddie could be his ancestor.

The thing about the Flash is that he has a RIDICULOUS amount of villains. In fact, they could fill a whole season with just one rogue each week:

-Trickster
-Captain Boomerang
-Captain Cold
-Heat Wave
-Abra Kadabra
-Pied Piper
-Top
-Zoom
-Grodd
-Golden Glider
-Weather Wizard (already in pilot)
-Mirror Master

Then throw in other villains already hinted at or mentioned in Arrow:

-Dr. Light
-Killer Frost
-Solomon Grundy
-Brother Blood
-Deathstroke
-Ravager
-H.I.V.E.

They could have enough material for 3+ seasons right there.

Dude, if they actually use Grodd, and can pull him off on tv, I'll flip freaking out.

Since Grodd's power is mind control and telepathy, they could have a gorilla onscreen speaking without moving his lips.

I didn't think of this. I wouldn't mind that twist but it may turn out better if Reverse Flash ends up being Eddy if Barry and he develop a solid friendship over the course of the season.

Whatever happens, I'm sure it won't take long to get there. We know how fast paced the Arrow story plots work along.

This has me wondering if WB is actually likely to tie in the tv world with the film one. WB did announce a Flash film on their schedule. At first I assumed they'd try to cast a big name actor but maybe they use Gatlin.

Anyone else notice in the future newspaper-hologram article Barry's suit is a much brighter shade of red and the chest piece is white instead of red. I guess his costume right now is like Oliver's war paint.

Well I don't think the word "crisis" in the headline was a coincidence. I think it is definitely a reference to one of, if not all of, the Crisis series in the comics. Now whether or not it is just an easter egg or foreshadowing, who knows at this point.

And Wells could be Garrick, or even Bart Allen. The writers can take the Wells character in a number of different directions at this point. But the more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to agree with Tedock that it's probably Prof. Zoom.

So from the future news paper we see that in 10 years Flash disappears, Wayne Tech and Queen Inc. (which is interesting considering that it is currently called Queen Consolidated) merge, and there was some sort of red skies event that vanishes.

I hope that the Wayne/Queen merger is foreshadowing of some future plot points for Arrow, and not just some easter egg. Hopefully the rumor of Nightwing making an appearance on Arrow is true. I know it is very unlikely, but how cool would it be if this leads down the path of a future Batman/Arrow team up storyline several seasons down the line?

And what is the red skies a reference to? I can't recall a comic storyline where red skies sticks out to me. But I'm guessing it wasn't put there randomly. It has to be a reference to something, right?

Red Skies happen during major cosmic events like the Crisis.

At one point during Crisis on Infinite Earths, there were red skies on Earth 1 and 2

If this happens, who should win a head to head battle? You know they are gonna fight.

I'm going with Nightwing. He should be able to take Arrow.

Cool, that makes sense and shows an even further nod to the Crisis events.

If they were to have an initial fight on the Arrow series, they'd probably fight to a draw. I doubt the writers of Arrow would have him losing in a straight up fist fight with Grayson.

Now if they were to fight in the comic book world, I'd go with Nightwing handling Green Arrow in a hand to hand fight. If Oliver knew Grayson was coming and had his bow and arrows, he might be able to take him though.

Nightwing was trained by Batman, so he cheats.

He beats Green Arrow.

But he was also trained by Superman, so he apologizes after.
