You'd be right on lemonhead but the former 2 you're off.
If not for lemons would the people that sometimes bitch about Jrue/Tyreke still have reason to bitch?
Yes, all 3 make north of $10m. As far as roster/salary construction goes, you would like at least one of them to be a stud considering two of your best players (Anderson and Davis) are great "supplemental pieces" on great contracts. You need those 3 guys to earn their money. Obviously Gordon is the biggest culprit as he makes a ton of $$$ in regards to actual production.

Tyreke looked like a dominant player at times last year. I'd say he has the best chance to breakout and earn his money, especially now that he's in Monty's good graces.

Jrue was a stud for that ~one month span where he was healthy/acclimated with the offense. He was also a stud in Philly up until the entire team and coach gave up on the season. It's hard to say that he'll be a top 10 PG next season since the NBA is stacked with PGs right now, but I do think that he'll be VERY good.

Indeed. But it remains to be seen how he performs with Anderson and Holiday. If he has to play SG, is he the worst shooting SG in the NBA?

I like Holiday. But he's in the 2nd tier of PGs, which isn't bad considering the talent. He does make a lot of money but it will be justified if he can maintain a full season of exceptional play.

Pretty much, which is why you'll need a coach that is willing to eschew "positions". He'll have to play Jrue off ball a good bit, rotate lineups that allow Tyreke to play at PG, SG and SF depending on the other players on the floor. You'll need to get Jrue to continue to develop his shot, as well as getting Morrow and Anderson in there with him.
And if Davis develops that corner 3 that will help as well.

And players who buy into it, as well.
Morrow may not be back. The need for a 3P shooter or two is amplified, especially if Gordon is dumped.

After watching Bosh on the Heat this season, I almost hope that he doesn't.

Personally, I would MUCH prefer he works hard on a legit post game/back to basket game. I don't want him all the way out there.
But it sounds like that's what he's working on, so it is what it is.

He could be aiming for a Dirk with defense career, which would be fantastic. It would also force us to get a legit center.

Everything Monty and Dell has said is they don't know how good he's going to be and they don't want to limit his growth. Dirk with defense is basically an offensive and defensive MVP that could push LeBron out of the GOAT discussion.

My thoughts exactly. I'd rather he spend the extra time on his low-post game and continuing to improve his mid-range jumper and mid-range face-up game. Put off extending his range to the 3 point line for one more year.

And really it would be better than Dirk on offense. Dirk was never as athletic and couldn't attack the basket like AD can now. But saying "a better version of prime Bosh" doesn't have the same effect and I don't know who else to compare him to.

I'm not worried about Jrue/Tyrekes production in regards to money/impact.
It's EG that screwing all of this up.

He may work on that later on in his career.
LeBron for example did not have a legit postgame until 8 years later in his career. Durant still has no post game 7 years in his career. AD would likely work on it earlier than that.

I can see a team taking one of them on, but ~$15m in cap space while paying out an extra $15m on top of that in real money... that's significant to any owner. I would be shocked if they could get a team to take on both of them without sending contracts back.
The Rockets will be sending a bunch of cash to the teams take take Asik and Lin. As others have said, Asik would most probably get close to $15M if he's on the open market. Teams are still enamored with the thought of having a "true" Center.
I wonder if the owner of the Rockets is willing to take a hit with the luxury tax?

“I have enough money, but I don’t have enough championships,” Rockets owner Leslie Alexander said. "If you’re not in it to win championships, you shouldn’t be in it. I would be thrilled to pay the tax if we have a championship-caliber team. Obviously, you have to get the players to pay the taxes. You have to get great players; otherwise, you’re just spinning your wheels. When you get the great players, you don’t want to lose them. You have to pay whatever it takes to keep them. That’s when it becomes really fun to be an owner and to be a fan of the Rockets."

I like this owner's mindset

Definitely answers my question!
Looks like we'll see if his actions match his words. They're going to end up with another big name on that team.

Not for one season. His $8m cap hit is reasonable, but the $15m paid by the owner is a lot to ask.

2nd tier is fine, esp. for his cost. Look at it:
1. CP3 - 21.5mil
2. Deron Williams - 19.75mil
3. Wall - 19.2mil
4. Rose - 18.8mil
5. Westbrook - 15.7mil
6. Parker - 12.5mil
7. Lawson - 12.0mil
8. Evans (sort of?) - 11.0mil
9. Rondo - 11.0mil
10. Curry - 11.0mil
11. Holiday - 10.25mil
After:
Nash
Nelson
Lin
Ellis
Conley
Hill
Teague
Jennings
Dragic
Calderon
Jack
Irving
Miller
Barea
We're getting a good value on him. I'd put only 2-3 'cheaper' PGs that are better than him. Other than that, he's paid what he should be paid imo.
