Forgive me if it's been discussed here. I don't check in much.
Downloaded it today.
Love it.
Listened through twice while cleaning up the garage.
Excellent. Better than his last album, and I really liked that.
Dude has some real mojo working now that he's free to explore some real musical arrangements. I liked the white stripes, but that whole thing has been eclipsed now IMO.
What does everyone else think?

I was excited to hear it and then felt let down.
I immediately put on White Blood Cells and felt better.
But seriously, I don't get the amount of love for it.

I really enjoyed it. Has a little more of a country sound. Jack White always delivers.

Yep, solid effort, he's really coming together as a musician. The White Stripes days were fantastic, but it's always fun to listen to how a musician grows. Really like the blusey country side to this one, but there are a couple tracks with the screaming Kay.
I really like the direction he's headed towards.

Can any of you recommend a few cuts from the album to dip my toe in the water?

Well, I listened to the title track, and was kind of meh. Then I had a friend tell me to check it out, as it really is a great overall effort.
He was right.
However, if you wanna sample some cuts, check:
Three Women
Lazaretto
High Ball Stepper
Entitlement

Hard to believe the same guy released Blunderbuss and Lazaretto.
Throughout the White Stripes run, Meg took a lot of grief. Everybody wondered what Jack could do with a "real" drummer and a whole band. As much as I loved TWS, when Blunderbuss came out, I lost interest.
But Lazaretto is much more relaxed and melodic. I'm a solo Jack White fan again.

Jack White is a genius, however and can play whatever the frick he wants
Blunderbuss was far superior imho

Jack White is SOOO terrible

I like the new album a lot. I liked Blunderbuss but this one seems even better.

My thoughts ... the new album is very good, and is tighter, more blues-ey, and harder rocking than Blunderbuss. Blunderbuss seemed to be all over the map as far as musical styles go. It's hard to say which one is better as they are both good. White is definitely at the top of his game right now.

Lazaretto is definitely the best work Jack White has done...And I am not a huge Jack White fan
