What is the problem with it? We have a bye before the game. If we go to Atlanta the following weekend, it actually gives us more prep/recovery time than if it were on Saturday. Some of you people bitch just to bitch. It is also more exposure for the program to play on a night where there are very few other games to compete for TV viewership.

The problem will be in 2016 when there is only one bye week

I think a lot of our fans are upset because it looks to them like Alleva caved in to pressure from the SEC to honor A&M's tradition of playing on Thanksgiving. We aren't guaranteed that the game will be played on the Saturday night after Thanksgiving when it's in Baton Rouge. There's still a chance that CBS could force us to play on Friday at 1:00 in the afternoon. If that's true, then what did LSU get out of it, other than national exposure? It's true that we have a bye before the game next season, but it won't be that way every year. When we go back to having only one bye week, do we really want it so late in the season? We'll have played 10 Saturdays in a row up to that point.

not saying he should be fired but it will be a problem in 2016

1. BOTH teams will have to play on a short week
2. I expect LSU to schedule accordingly (i.e. a winnable non-conf game the week before like Bama does the week before Auburn). This does suck however. Nothing says late season excitement like LSU - Ball St.!
3. It's not as if BR to College Station is a long, exhausting trip over 2 time zones.
4. The games in Baton Rouge will be on Saturdays (likely Sat. nights), so that's not affected.
5. It really is a nice spot for TV viewership. Thanksgiving and football go hand-in-hand. This one will be at night after most Thanksgiving festivities have concluded, and in a spot where many people will be at home tuned into football (there will be NFL competition though)

I've analyzed. I've reanalyzed. I've overanalyzed. Result, it's no biggie. Believe me, no one has picked this apart more than I. It's not possible. I've obsessed over it since the announcement.

It really isn't. There a lot of miserable frickers on here though that make this out to be the worth thing in the modern history of LSU athletics and the AD should be fired. Retards...

How horrible. A nationally televised game on ESPN on Thanksgiving night with the whole country watching because it's the only game on. What a dreadful tradition.
Certainly, playing in the afternoon on Black Friday is much better.
