ConsciousGal, just to confirm, are you asking about MKT715?
Posted on 2/28/20 at 11:04 am to kikicub
@kikicub this is great. Can you add grade expected to receive in it?
Posted on 2/28/20 at 2:15 pm to kikicub
Awesome! I have added my 9 completed classes...Thanks for pulling this together!

Hi all, just an update regarding the pairing of MADM760 with McLaughlin and MKT701 with Khan.
I ended up with an A in both, barely squeaking by in MADM760 w/ a 90.35 and a 93.75 in MKT.
MADM760: the first 3 tests were seemingly confusing on purpose, lots of double negatives and obscure references, but the last test was SUPER EASY (everyone in our GroupMe agreed), and with those points combined w/the pretty easy discussion & current event paper points, seemed to ensure getting at least a B in that class if you tried. The class is broken up into groups by last name, and it SEEMED like the coach for my group graded maybe a bit easier than the coach in my friends group, but we both ended up passing so yay. I do recommend McLaughlin, even though I guess I'm really recommending my coach, because I don't even know what the teacher does--there are no videos or anything and the coaches grade everything.
MKT701: I really loved this class and loved the professor. He seems to care A LOT. There are videos, 3 project/paper type things that he COMPLETELY spells out--if you make a bad grade on these then you are totally not trying--each point section has an explanation of what he is looking for. He goes over the tests sort of and in my class ended up curving 3 times, I think because some questions on the tests hardly anyone got the right answer on. The final is worth 50 points and is a case study, and you are allowed to use notes. He is very passionate and I learned a LOT. I HIGHLYYYYYY recommend Dr. Khan.
For both classes I printed out the slides and took notes from the book (and Dr. Khan's videos) on the printed out slides. MADM760's book resources included little practice tests, and I made flashcards of those and kind of tried to flesh out the answers so I would understand why the right answers were right. Idk how much that helped for MADM760, but in MKT701 those notes were awesome when it came time for the final!
TL/DR: you can take both these classes (if they are with these professors) and do just fine :)

Awesome review. Thanks. So glad someone else enjoyed Khan's course. I thought i was the only one here. Personally, I found it to be straightforward. The workload was heavy, but I think every MKT course in the program is heavy. Read the chapter, listen to the lectures, put in effort on the paper's and the class should be a breeze.

Hello All -
I just finished FIN 710 with Hseih and looking at the next 2 terms: either FIN 720 Spring AP2 with Hseih or FIN 730 with Choi in Summer AP1.
My schedule is a bit tight over April so I am hesitant to take any class, but wanted some feedback from anyone that has taken either of these from either professor. Having had Hseih now for 701 and 710, I know his style with the reading materials, practice exams, and Module exams...
So, for you that have had both 720 and 730 which class was more enjoyable? Which professor?
Thanks

MKT 715: Advanced Marketing Analytics is my last class in the online program coming up in March & I was wondering if anyone has taken this class? It used to be BADM 790-MA.
The professor teaching this one will be Mohamad Darrat.
Any insight on what kind of assignments, exams, projects there are would be helpful
Any advice on the above course? I see that some of the topics are R, Data Visualization, Data Wrangling, etc.

ConsciousGal sorry, I thought originally you were asking about ISDS 710, which I took with M. Darrat. I really liked that course, though all the R content was removed. I do know someone who took MKT715 this term and had nothing but good things to say about it.

No problem at all. I also took ISDS 710 last year & enjoyed it too.

Oh really? From the email I received in November, they said, "MKT 715 will start in Spring AP2." meaning this AP2 from March to April. Also, MKT 715 is not on the AP1 class list. Maybe that class they were referring to was another one? This class also used to be BADM 790-MA & I think it used to be on the class list as that name a year or so back?

Hmm sorry, I must be confused. I know it was with Darrat and it wasn't MKT701 or ISDS710.

Thomas, I'm not great with finance but in my opinion Hseih's 720 was the toughest course I've taken and I'm 2 classes from being complete (MADM 760 and FIN 740). But he told us that the difficulty level for his 710 was comparable so if you did well in 710 you should be fine. Choi's 730 was one of the easier courses for me. Then again, my strengths are memorizing notes and writing NOT MATH. Choi has very little math in 730. This is a concept course. My opinion is that 730 should be taken before any other finance course. This class actually introduces you to the stock and bond market rather asking you to evaluate the prices. So for me, 730 will require less time unless you're already strong with finance. I've said on here before that Hseish's 720 Module 1 covered the entire FIN 701 curriculum. It was a 75 page document of concepts.

ACCT701 with Li Huang was super easy A. I had zero accounting experience and by the last few weeks I was flying through the weekly work including the final project in a single sitting of 2-3 hours. Never touched the text book, only studied the power point slides. I'd imagine anyone with some accounting background should be able to sleep through this even faster.

Hey guys! I’m new to this forum, still trying to figure it all out.
I’ll be just starting this MBA program in May. I’m a little nervous about the work load. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what classes to take first? professors? any specific order to take the classes in? Which 2 classes pair well in terms of work loads/similar material. I’d like to knock out 2 classes per semester if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Search this thread via google to answer your questions regarding course content and difficulty.
I find it challenging to consistently take 2 classes every session while working.

I dont have much point of reference but I think all 3 of my classes I have took so far were easy and light enough to double up on with more demanding courses and I had basically no working or academic experience in the material
ranked from least demanding to most:
acct701 Huang(everything is contained in the weekly slides and you can complete your entire week workload in a single 2 hour sitting)
econ705 Fawaz (his lectures made it easy for me to quickly pick up on the material)
isds705 Gibbs (very easy material to learn but the weekly quizzes have 1-2 very specific questions that would be burried in a long chapter... but all the easy open book assignments give enough cushion to just study the chapter summary and questions for the tests)
