Need help. I have read through about 100 pages of this thread and could not find any concrete advise. Please help.

My schedule...
AP1
MADM 701 -Org Beh with Williams Felice
MADM 715 -Labor & Emp Law with Wren, Amy
AP2
ISDS 705 -Info Tech with Gibbs, James
MADM 720 -Lead Comm with Williams, Kimberley

Any help, suggestions, recommendations, references, study material, class paring advise would be awesome. Second semester back since 2016 when I took those classes we don't need anymore and really want to be successful in this program. Thank you in advance.

Can anyone give me an idea as to what the workload is like for ISDS 702? I'm thinking about pairing it up with MADM 701 in Spring, but since I heard MADM 701 is one of the heaviest workloads, I'd like to not saddle myself with TWO heavy classes at the same time.

@bsramzy I'm doubling up with MKT 705, but I'm going for a Marketing spec. I heard MKT 701 has a high workload and 705 fortunately does not so it will hopefully work out.

ISDS 702 hasn't been bad so far. I would have doubled up had I known. Koksal records lectures of him teaching the material. I have really enjoyed so far. If you have had statistics and did well you should be good. Kind of a recap or at least familiar topics for the most part.

Currently in Felice Williams's MADM710 course and it isn't that bad. Discussion + Assignment + Quiz each week for it. The Wednesday deadline for the discussions is the most difficult thing. To do a good job on the discussion, you need to read the chapters Monday & Tuesday IMO. Likely MADM701 isn't much different.

MADM715 was far and away the worst put together course I took in this program. Very time consuming to read the same thing MANY times over and over throughout articles she threw together. I can't imagine it being worse as she's had time to (hopefully) better prepare and review her course material and exams. Her communication to the class as a whole was condescending (probably because she was getting overwhelmed with emails). The communication to the class as a whole is what really turned me off on her in general. January 2018 the program moved to textbook-free program and Spring AP2 was her first time doing it w/o one and it wasn't pretty.

You're going to have your hands full with MADM701 and MADM715. Anything is doable if have the time and put forth the effort but it's going to be a second full time job even if Wren cuts down on the readings. She had multiple weeks of 200-250+ page readings at the same time as having to complete course project around Week 4-5. I (luckily) took it alone. Based on last sessions MADM715 offering, would I recommend pairing MADM715 with anything? No. She completely lulled the class the first couple of weeks of normal sized readings and exams that appeared to be reviewed. All hell broke loose Weeks 3-7. We started getting hundreds of pages of readings, condescending email communication, and exams that simply weren't reviewed at all. I really can't imagine it being worse this session. She's had a few months to update and review her materials. Her course reviews before no textbook Spring AP2 course were decent so I'd hope our session was just an anomaly.

AP2 looks fine. Can pair anything with MADM720. Dr. Kimberley Williams is one of the better professors in the program. Had her as my mentor in MADM701 as well. Straight forward course that isn't time intensive.

I probably spent 2-3x more time on MADM715 alone than ISDS705 + MADM710 + MADM720 combined. (Assuming the structure of MADM701 isn't much differrent than MADM710 with Felice Williams). If the material for MADM715 had been reviewed, the time commitment would have drastically cut. I don't mind putting in the time. I do mind reading the same things 12 different times in a bunch of unreviewed internet articles while the professor -- that isn't reviewing her own material or exams -- is giving others career advice.

Good luck

I thought ISDS exam 2 was easier than the first but I think it helped knowing what to expect. Shouldn't the grades be posted by now?

I actually thought exam 1 was easier than this exam. But yes, I thought that the grade should have been posted by 11pm last night like the last exam.

I missed 2 more questions than the first test, but still did well. Should be able to get A in the class if I do about the same on the last test.

ISDS definitely isn’t hard, though it is my first class in the program so we’ll see.

Your grade is based on 3 exams, multiple choice, can use a double sided cheat sheet. It’s a decent amount of reading but it’s easy if you just do a little each day. The exams themselves are straightforward. I got an 80 on the first exam but didn’t prepare well at all, got a 92 on the 2nd with a little more studying.

@WDE I thought Assignment 4 was just more intensive because I rewrote the whole thing to make sure I met the Turnitin threshold. I wound up getting a couple points docked on Assignment 4 because of it. The instructions said don't include any parts of Assignment 2 so I did exactly that. I included the Daily/Weekly/Monthly duties part on Assignment 2 but not Assignment 4. Oh well

Assignment 5 seems to be the easiest yet. I just finished it up. Gonna start reading for the next module tonight. Feels good to finally be ahead to get a head start on things and not cram all the reading on Monday/Tuesday. Hasn't been a problem yet but the Wednesday discussion posts always come down to the wire for me.

The finish line is near!!

Took ISDS with James Gibbs and it was awesome. Very easy and learned a lot, he uses tutorials you have to complete more so than reading so you had a small quiz every week but also turned in a completed excel tutorial. Best and most stress free class I have taken so far and actually probably learned the most as well.
