Just an FYI to the guy who started the thread, the only real sports bar downtown is a rugby bar called the Springbok LINK. It's brand new, and they will play college football, but it's South African themed and may be a little different. The upstairs is awesome though, and it's definitely worth checking out. It's at Main and Capitol and is about four blocks from your hotel. There's a place nearby your hotel on Caroline I think, but I'm fairly certain it's closed on Saturday. A lot of downtown Houston shuts down on the weekend. I highly recommend the South African joint. It's been getting good reviews from all who attend.

My pleasure. I live and work in downtown Houston, so if you have any questions, holler.

I'm starting to regret not jumping on this trip, despite my recurring bitching about neutral site games.
Thursday party, Friday golf, Saturday game ... Man, right in my wheelhouse.

Depends what your definition of "downtown" is.
Big Woodrow's is worth the drive for any out-of-town guests or you can find one of their Little Woodrow's locations around town. Christian's Tailgate is a sports bar in Midtown, there's a ton of Buffalo Wild Wings.

Yeah, he referred to a sports bar close to his hotel, which I assumed excluded midtown and surrounding areas. Little Woordrow's will be hotter than hell (it's all outdoors in the Midtown location), so I would recommend Pub Fiction if a trip to Midtown is warranted.

Pub Fiction is fun, but if you're going to be outside I would much rather be at Celitc Garden. I've always liked that place.

You must of been hitting the doobies that night. Boston played, not Journey.

Jackson Watering hole is a great spot close to rail and stadium. They usually have somebody cooking BBQ all day. Richmond Ave has a couple of good Pubs that are cool for Pre-game drinking...

Hey KK, quick question. Is Lucky's the best option for catching some Premier League matches that Saturday morning? I'd like to start gameday at a place showing both Game Day and some BPL action, not sure where to go downtown to do so.

We are staying in the Medical Center area. Any good sports bars nearby? Little Woodrow's or Baker Street Pub in Rice Village area? We want to be inside

Laying in my bed until about 9:00. Watching some gameday and then driving down the street to NRG.
