I'm all for moving away from unfettered capitalism. It is an economic relic of the 20th century. Endless growth via consumerism to grow the economy indefinitely is unsustainable.
We do need to move more toward a socialist economy with an emphasis on generous social-welfare benefits for American citizens.
You see Democrats are actually capitalists. They push for easy immigration policies to help provide for cheaper labor for capitalists. Democrats win both ways with their immigration policy. They get voters and they get cheaper labor for capitalists.

Our greatest geopolitical problem is Islamists Jihadism. It is tied to our policy in the middle east toward Israel and backing the Saudi's at the same time.
China and Russia want their own spheres of Influence. We can manage that.

We are going to tear ourselves to pieces before any that comes to pass. I have been reading up on the lead up to our first civil war and the simalarities are stunning. The Hatred we see from opposite ends of the political spectrum from basically the same players is pretty scary.

We have much to discuss.

Will always be second fiddle to the US. They make noise when we have a weak President but when we have a strong leader they are irrelevant.

2. Islamic Jihadists
THese guys wouldn't even be in discussion if we stopped playing War games over there. They hate us because we go over there and put in a Government that we like, and they see it as a threat to their traditional religion and practices. Sure they are violent and practically insane, but if we just left them alone and stopped interfering then they'd be no problem to us. Like every human being, they love money. No matter who is in charge, they will sell us oil.

3. Other (name it)
Our biggest problem is immigration. Hordes of immigrants coming over looking for a free ride, and a rapidly changing demographic. 3rd world people will gladly give up freedom for state sponsored safety at the expense of others. If we don't get our borders closed and cut off some welfare and get the economy back on track, then we're toast within the next 25 years. Everything will collapse and who knows what will emerge from the collapse. Maybe it'd take care of itself and we would keep our Constitution intact and just start over. Maybe we'd lose it all and end up in full tyranny. I don't want to find out honestly

Radical Islam is not a geopolitical problem, by definition.
To answer your question, the most important geopolitical challenges for the US in the next 20-50 years will come from:
1. Russia
2. China
3. Mexico
The important thing to note is that challenges do not necessarily mean armed conflict.

This. But it is possible. This board would be a lot easier to deal with if everyone understood that war was simply the most extreme spectrum of diplomacy.

Having a President who doesn't care.

Overthrow? Are you kidding? China can't get along and no way the seaport cities and provinces, who are very pro Western would be supportive and no way can the interior, which are jealous of the seaports and are very poor could do anything. No Navy either.
Russia is a shrinking demographic and getting old. Putin can make waves locally and nibble around the edge of the Balkins and that's about it.
As long as America has a strong Navy and controls the global waters it's interests are pretty damn safe.
A middle east in shambles is not always a bad thing. It keeps regional powers from growing too much which might increase extremist groups and by virtue terrorism, but still keeps the area in check.
And regardless of immigration, the Southern borderlands will always and continue to be Hispanic influenced which will gradually creep North and gain much political influence in the coming decades.

We have a price floor for labor, which Democrats consistently argue for raising.

Our Greatest Geopolitical Problem ? The US is an empire which will crumble from within like the Roman Empire. Primarily by 3rd world immigrants coming from Mexico and terrorists from the Middle East. The buildup will be slow but the collapse will be swift.
Absolutely correct and will happen as we withdraw from our outer areas of influence just as Rome lost ground in the Northern regions, Egypt, but even more importantly by political power gained by citizens from formerly conquered areas with divergent views unlike what made Rome great. The fear of political unrest caused leaders to essentially buy citizens with sport and grain. The sport requiring more and more drama to satisfy the bloodlust and tax dollars used to buy more grain and other items to give to citizenry to buy peace at expense of military force. And on and on until here we are

There's a whole lot of leftist cliches in that statement.

Posting your disagreement with a statement, then having someone accuse you of agreeing with it. And topping it with an ad hominem attack.
This board never fails to entertain.
