Right because nobody here ever slung an NES controller at a sibling when they 'cheated' in a video game.
The comment is geared more towards your lack of realizing that this will become an issue...You're worried more about how to keep your kids from experiencing someone tearing down their virtual world instead of dealing with actual world issues..
ETA: If he thinks this is ok, how is he going to deal with real issues.

It's shite like this that I'm going to struggle so much with when I have kids... I won't have a kid for at least 3-5 more years so I can only imagine what kind of technology kids from that generation are going to have. It's going to be really hard for me not to just withhold ALL electronics from them, but then they will be the weird kids at school and I don't want that either
It's not so bad. I think it's manageable. But like I said, handling sibling destruction of e-shite was a new curve ball for me in last 2 years.

Yes. That's a WHOLE nother can of worms
2 months ago my son was freaking out because he couldn't figure out how to build a bed out of wood.
last night before bed, he showed me some enormous oil refinery he built, complete with underwater drilling and a 'waste water reclamation' infrastructure and his Super Collider he built to refine uranimum into anti-matter.
his next project is building a rocket so he can go to the moon.
this shite is crazy.

I guess just treat it the same as if they broke their siblings toys on purpose?
Posted on 6/13/14 at 10:53 am to mikelbr
you should just let them work it out. Sisters crosses line, brother punches her back into place and all it well.

Oh jeezus. He's 8. And he was punished and he understands
1. don't get angry over video games or I'll powersurge it.
2. never hit your older sister in the face and never hit your younger sisters at all
3. cussing will get you punished every time.

Exactly what I started thread for. Is myself having to adapt and treat e-shite the same as a Lego set or a Barbie Dreamhouse they spent hours setting up.

my son finally hauled off and punched his sister in the face and said this is "fricking bullshite"(we weren't in the room when this happened).
Any ideas on this issue?
You're son is hitting his sister and dropping f-bombs and you're about maintaining balance in the video game? WTF!
This has to be a troll

my son's progression:
- banjo & kazooee (built airplanes & robots)
- halo FORGE (wow..he modelled some amazing things and that's when i realized he had surpased my patience for these things)
- garry's mod (built cool little forts with weapon caches & keypad entries & tripwires)
- minecraft (went from building a house & fence for cows to a super collider & working oil refinery)

mikelbr, the man who let another man pull anal beads out of his arse, has children. Scary.

They are 8 and 10 and if you tell me you didn't say "frick" when your parents weren't around at 8 yrs old, YOU are the troll.
That issue was dealt with swiftly and appropriately. It was funny as hell in retrospect b/c the little shite deserved it. She was blocking him and destroying his shite.
Lighten up, Francois.

You can't be that out of touch, can you? That was true 15 yrs ago but for my personal example, go to a youth wrestling meet and watch kids from different states immediately bond and interact with each other as they join in a minecraft game or clash of clans.
Sweet. So they're all fricking retards who know video gaming and nothing else, helluva generation we are rearing here.
It would be fine if these kids played sparingly, even a good thing, but they play obsessively, like it's a hobby. Much research shows too much gaming in youth is a huge social deterrent.

Right. so then they go right into discussing what their favorite take down in a wrestling match is, where their school is in what city, how hard is their math teacher, etc.
eta: you're just being combative and it's your style. I get it.

I'm glad your son is an American. Sounds like he's a smart kid
