2014 Finals Much Like 2004 Finals

Home court was flipped obviously, but it took a big game from Kobe in game 2 of the 04 Finals to squeak out a win before ultimately losing in five, and this series is following the same narrative. One team has the best player and superior star power, while the opponent plays team basketball and can lean on multiple guys for production.
Every now and then a team comes along that transcends the usual NBA script where stars dominate the league. I hated SA more than any team growing up, but much like that Pistons team, how can you not appreciate the cohesiveness and collective execution? Watching these two squads 10 years apart has been a treat. This is basketball at its finest

quote:one team also had one of its biggest offensive weapons out for the whole series that year. that's not going on this year. kind of a huge difference

Rick Fox is talking about this exact thing on NBAtv right now

So what your saying is they scripted a re-run episode this year?

Do you have a bat signal that goes off whenever someone posts about the Lakers? I swear I never see you post anymore until someone brings them up.

Like the Mailman was going to do anything against Sheed.

I dunno. I have nothing really else to say anymore
I was going hardcore LeBron love fest the other night in the game thread until the game got out of hand
and Malone really wasn't that big of a loss to be honest. just still pissed off about that series

Malone wouldn't have made a difference against those Pistons. He was too slow and old to make a significant impact against that frontline.
I still remember like 95% of ESPN analysts predicting the Lakers to win that series, but it was clear in game 3 that it was over

Simmons is a fanboy that flips on his stance with each game. I don't need to ripoff that beantown clown
Posted on 6/12/14 at 11:42 pm to AlexLSU
no one hates the lakers like simmons either

His butthurt in 2010 was strong, but he was sufferable. He's a clown now. By far the worst on the ESPN panel
