Yeah, because leaving a dominant pitcher in with less than 70 pitches thrown will absolutely decimate your bullpen.

No it didn't. That isn't the point. Every move is a calculated risk. If McCune takes care of business, this thread doesn't exist. He could have given McCune the hook sooner and putting in Domangue was a poor decision at best. But it's reeeeeally easy in hindsight to say that pulling Bouman when did was a bad move, when it was the same move we had pulled all year with (for the most part) success.

Until we change the obvious majoritive mediocre and vanilla expectation for our baseball program that we have at present, to the take no prisoners expectations that brought LSU to greatness back in the Skip Bertman days at the Old Box, we will continue this endless toil over overpaid average coaches at LSU Baseball.

That's exactly the point.

It's easy because it was a horrible decision.

When was Bouman pulled with a low pitch count while absolutely dominating the opponent?

Not until he hires a legit hitting coach will I quit beating up on him

Do we have to be #1 in batting average every year to satisfy you? We've been top 4 in 3 out of the past 4 years in the SEC. Our pitching numbers are actually way worse and he clearly worked to solve that problem by hiring Dunn.

yeah the fire javi stuff is getting old. we're not struggling more than anyone else at the plate. our biggest offensive issue honestly, imo, is base running. way too many easy base running mistakes that aren't just the fault of aggression but the fault of not paying attention.

s didn't cost us the game You can't possibly know that.
But you can prove somehow that taking out Bouman cost us the game?
Was it a questionable call? Yes, absolutely. I can see both sides of that debate and if you can't...well that about sums up your baseball IQ...

Okay, 2 hits and 0 runs in 6 innings on less than 70 pitches. What are those numbers like "2 innings after"?
What if they were 7 hits and 3 runs? How would you feel about PM then? I'm going to go out on a limb and say you would be in a different thread bashing PM for leaving in another pitcher for too long.

He gets paid more than 290 of the head coaches, he can deal with the criticism.

Seeing the other side of the debate doesn't legitimize it. In my opinion, it was the absolutely wrong call to pull him. Why not let him come out in the 7th and see if he's still dominating? If he gives up a hit, so be it, hits happen. You can always take him out then, but why do it when he's still looking very dominant?

It wasn't 7 hits and 3 runs. It wasn't close. You're making up completely irrelevant hypotheticals to ignore the FACT of the matter.

Find one. Go.

Good lord, son. This thread is trying to get people to stop criticizing him. If you can't make that connection, there's no help for you.

Are people really still crying about one or two pitching decisions? That is supposed to define him as a coach?
I've said this numerous times on this board but there is no other program in the entire country besides South Carolina that had had a better past 7 seasons than LSU has. Criticism/debate for certain moves is perfectly reasonable but if you put emotion aside for a second, you'll realize we have one of the best coaches in the country.
Having said that, it's really time to move on from a couple of pitching decisions. We had an exciting run to end the season and won a SEC Tournament Championship in the process. We got a top 8 National Seed when a month before that most people said we had no chance and probably wouldn't host at all. It's time to turn the page and look toward next season.

We squandered that top 8 seed with a four run lead and six outs to go and you want people to just let it go after a week?
Let's just not discuss anything after 4 days. New TD commandment.
